My name is Catarina Nicole Brooks; I am seventeen years old and currently a rouge. I am not a rouge by choice. My pack, Crystal Glade, is one of the smaller packs in South America. During the night, a much larger pack of rouges attacked our pack, killing our Alpha and Luna. Also known as my mother and father. I am the only known survivor.

-FLASHBACK-

"Come on John!" I yelled happily. He ran slower than me, although that's nothing new. I am the Alpha's daughter. All is well in my small family and although I haven't found my mate yet, John is putting together that puzzle. He smiled and ran faster. My father has called us before him today.

"Cat," my father began, " we are under attack by rouges. You and John run as far as you can get. Go!" He yelled. His words sent my mood plummeting. All I could do is fall to my knees. John picked me up and ran. I shifted and he did too, luckily at the same time. Otherwise, he would have been a pancake. I turned to run towards the war, but I was grabbed by the skin of my neck and carried away.

'John! Let me go! I can help them!' I screamed through the mind-link. He shook his head, silencing me. I whimpered.

'Catarina. You will be the only one to survive this, you will be the salvation of a large pack soon.' John said, trotting through the woods to the Black Stone pack border. A massive black rouge sideswiped us as he neared the border.

'John!' I whined.

'Go! I will be okay!' He replied. My wolf took over. You are the Omega. You are the last of your kind, said Brooks, my wolf. I nodded and ran across the border.

-END OF FLASHBACK-

"Shift and state your name, rouge." Said a rough and aged voice as they tossed a blanket before me. I followed orders and shifted, using the soft object to cover the exposed parts of my body.

"Catarina Nicole Brooks; my pack was murdered. I request acceptance into your pack," I mumbled. The man nodded.

"Come along," he said. I followed him, the blanket tightly wrapped around me. The trail through these woods seemed to go on forever, flaunting. its beautiful skirts of land. Finally we reached the pack house porch.

"Go get Alpha Salem and bring him to us. Bring Sabrina too." The man barked out orders with power leading me to believe he was powerful, but not alpha. I turned to take in his features. He had a small beard, with gray strands peeking through. He wore jeans and a black shirt that had holes in it. A small woman appeared on the porch, waving me to come closer. I walked onto the porch and she embraced me into a tight hug, and handed me clothes.

"Go find a room to change in," she said. I followed instructions and went to find a room. Walking down the corridor, I felt a strange pull to the door at the end of the hallway. Instinctively I followed the pull and went to the room. The door led to a dark room without, apparently, a light switch. Still clutching the blanket, I let out a sigh.

"Only a genius would build a room without a light switch!" I mumbled.

"Beautiful," a husky voice said. 'MATE! MATE!!' My wolf screamed.

'Only if you help me turn the lights on!' I said to Brooks. I held my hands out until a small flame appeared.

"Beautiful and talented. How do you do that?" it spoke again. Suddenly a tall, teenage boy appeared before me. He had shaggy black hair and bright green eyes that took my breath away.

"Elemental omega," I answered. He leaned down an kissed me. Brooks sighed.
