Chapter 10

Riley's POV

I felt really bad about not telling Lucas about James..... James is only my friend right?? And we didn't do anything wrong... Then why cant i tell Lucas??? I asked myself all night until I fell asleep.

the next morning*

"Riley. Get up! Time for school!" Mom said and kissed my forehead.

" Ughh do i have too??" I asked.

"Yes! Now get up and get dressed!"

"Yes mom!" I said and got up.

I got dressed and Maya walked into my room as I was doing my hair.

"Hey Riles!" she said.

"Hey Maya! Im also ready!" I said.

"So i heard that you were late to your little 'date' with Ranger Rick yesterday?" she said.

"Well, i ran into an old friend and completely forgot." i said.

"Really? Who is this old friend of yours?" she asked.

" James. He was my best friend before i met you." I said.

"A GUY?! ARE YOU CRAZY RANGER RICK IS GOING TO BE SUPER MAD!" she said screaming.

" I know but I have to tell him. Besides we didn't do anything wrong..." I said.

" Then why did you tell Ranger Rick that you where waiting for your mom?" she said, lifting one eyebrow up.

"I dont know Maya but whatever lets just get to school." I said.

" Fine! Whatever you say." she said rolling her eyes.

in school*

"Hey Princess!" Lucas said to me.

"Hi Lucas!" I said smiling and giving him a hug.

"Sup Ranger Rick!" Maya said smiling.

"Hey Maya." he said laughing.

Farkle walks up

"Ladies" he says.

"Farkle!" me and Maya say at the same time.

"Hey umm Lucas we need to talk.... like alone please?" I said looking at Farkle and Maya.

"Okay sure! Lets go Maya." Farkle said as he dragged Maya away.

"So yesterday.... Umm i wasn't late because of my mom... I ran into an old friend and completely lost track of time..... Im really sorry Lucas... I hadn't seen James in a long—" i said.

"WAIT! IT WAS A BOY?" he said almost screaming.

"Lucas please don't scream! Im really sorry... he was my best friend before i met Maya... Nothing more i promise!" I said.

"Okay.... dont worry about it Riley! You didn't mean any harm!" he said was a smile.

"Thanks! Now lets go find Farkle and Maya." I said and dragged Lucas around until we found them.

"So have you guys seen the new guy?" Maya said.

"What new guy?" I said kinda worried.

I didn't want James to be the new guy. That would make things weird with Maya and Lucas. Maya because she's my best friend now and Lucas because he's my boyfriend.

" Oh he just moved here! And he is SUPER cute!" Maya said.

"Yeah okay... whatever! Lets just get to class!" I said walking towards my dads class.
