It started with a kiss on the cheek. Soft raindrops caressed his face and mine as they slowly dripped from the sagging leaves of the tree above us. It was a rash decision on my part, but I was tired of waiting. Tired of waiting for him to make a move. Yet, with that simple kiss on the cheek he found his courage. Pure ice blue eyes met mine in a foreshadowing embrace. I knew what was coming, but never in my dreams could I have imagined the impact a simple loving gesture could form.
If I had known what I was getting my dumb ass into...I would have ran away and never looked back. Love is a dangerous game. You always bet more than you'll earn. That kiss sealed my escape.
His hands on my waist pulling me towards him. The touch of his forehead against mine. That ragged breathing and fast paced heartbeat. A slight pressure on my lips; warm and comforting. Oh, it was so simple but so perfect. The boy who originally held nothing but my interest was moving up on the scale. Of course, that kiss wasn't over with quite yet, after all we were two teenagers.
Something primal in him awakened, and that innocent fear he had of the unknown dissipated into the air. On cue the rain picked up causing others to run into the nearby buildings, but not us. Oh no...not us. Both of us had other plans that involved each other's warm embrace. The next kiss was longer. Sweeter. Harder. I confess, it was sexy and inviting even if I was playing with fire. I taught him how to pace a kiss. The method of going slow and drawing it out in order to drive the other person crazy. The art of dancing two tongues together in an erotic show of love. That was the day I took an inexperienced boy and taught him the finer things in life.
To this day I can remember his unique taste. A mixture of beer and honey with raindrops. Damn perfect in my opinion. He was the boy I'd never forget. It's a story of how I lost everything. Love is a dangerous commitment, and I dealt with the devil. This is the tale of how one boy...took my heart and shattered it into a million pieces.
