Chapter 1~ I'm Not Perfect. I'm Not Perfect.

POV- Pheenix

I wake up groaning to my blaring alarm clock. I roll over and slam my and on the snooze button and fall back asleep almost immediately.

"Pheenix! Get up! Youre going to be late for school!" I hear somebody yell as I wake up groaning for the second time this morning. I push my cover off of me and look at the ceilings not wanting to get up.

"PHEENIX! GET DOWN HERE!" I hear my mom shout again. Cue the groan.

"Im coming! Alright?!" I grumble back loudly. I get up and walk lazily to my drawers as I take my shirt off and throw it on the floor. I grab a shirt from an overflowing drawer and pull it on. I lift the front of my shirt to my nose and sniff it. Not too bad. I grab some ripped jeans and pulled them over my boxers. I get onto the floor and crawl under my bed to reach my sneakers. Once I find them I pull them out and squeeze my size 10feet into them. I run a hair through my greasy blonde hair while I skip down the stairs to the kitchen. My mom sighs when she sees me.

"Finally. Here eat this." She says pushing a plate with two eggs, bacon and square cut potatoes on it. "Thanks." I mumble as I shovel a spoonful of potatoes in my mouth.

"Did you win your football game yesterday?" My dad asks as he looks up from his newspaper.

"You would know if you would have bothered to come and watch, you know." I say scooping a whole egg into my mouth. My mom sighs, she does that a lot. Kind of like me and groaning. Thing is, my dad doesn't even know I quit football. Last year. He doesn't even care. Has never asked. He still thinks I have weekly games on Thursday nights.

"I had a meeting. You know that." He says emotionless.

"Yeah, a meeting sure." I say and break a piece of bacon in two so I can fit them in my mouth.

"Pheenix Matthew Tyler!" My mom growls irritated.

"What?" I ask looking up at her with my mouth full of bacon and potatoes.

"Stop eating like a pig!" She says.

"And stop slouching your shoulders, would you? Learn to sit like a man, not a slob." My dad says shaking his head disappointingly.

"Cant you do anything right?" He says and the words sting.

"We cover this every single morning! You know that? Ever morning!" I shout standing up. I've had enough of this. They can keep pretending their lives our perfect, but I'm done pretending I don't mind feeling like the only thing I am to them is a damn disappointment.

"Cover what, Pheenix?" My mom asks as she shuts the fringe and puts her hands on her hips expectantly. I huff.

"If all I am to you is a disappointment! I'm a lousy son, an idiot in school and a frisking disappointment to you! That's all I am!" I shout at them throwing my arms in the arm frustrated. My dad just stares at me and then glances at my mom without saying anything. This only makes the anger stir even faster within me.

"I'm nothing but a failure! Right?" I say but they keep their mouths shut in a thin line and glance at each other occasionally, not knowing what to say or how to say it.

"RIGHT?!" I shout, my face heating up with anger. My dad finally reacts as if I've gone to far now.

"Pheenix. Don't you dare raise your voice at your mother or me like that again. Ever again. Learn to control your teenage emotions and anger outbursts." He says glancing down at his watch.

"I've got to go to work." He says.

"We'll finish this later." He says and I back up and snort.
