You feel as if warmth is escaping from your body. "--ess! ---ncess-!!! Princess!!!" You hear a familiar voice call you several times. Its a masculine voice you think to your self in a daze but with your eyes still closed. A few seconds later, you recognize the owner of the voice and at that moment your eyes open up. You see your favorite guard, Kai, in front of you with an unusual expression. You smile up at him and ask "What's wrong, Kai?" Kai keeps his worried expression and continues to call out to you as if he didn't hear you. It was odd to see him like this since he was usually calm and collected, and was never the one to panic in any situation. As you gaze at him, you notice that Kai had several scars on his cheek that resembled a scratch from a claw, and blood was dripping down his cheek. You attempt to reach up to touch it, but then realize that your arm has no energy. You turn your head slightly and notice that the once magnificent underwater palace you lived in was in ruins. You're able to move your head a tiny bit more, and see that your arm had a deep cut and blood was gushing out from it. Your eyes widen in surprise but you're unable to voice out anything. Kai continues to hold onto you and you hear him blaming himself for being unable to protect you. You want to tell him to not blame himself but just like before, your voice doesn't come out. Then your eyes start to slowly close, as the warmth completely escaped your body.

o7o well this story was technically supposed to be what happened to Kaito in the past, when I designed him first as a merman. He was a nameless guard with a given nickname, Kai from the princess he protected.
