"ISAAC GALLAGHER. I GROUNDED YOU. YOU LEFT THE HOUSE AND YOU COME BACK AN HOUR LATER, YOU DIDN'T GIVE ME THE CHANCE TO STOP YOU!" My mother storms over to me as soon as i enter the house. i totally forgot in all honesty, i didn't think a thing of it when I left the building...
"Oh my god. I totally forgot, oops." I grit my teeth, hoping she'll calm down before tonight when I attempt to sneak out my bedroom window at almost midnight. If she doesn't manage to calm down, she'll be patrolling my room for the whole night, as if she's on night guard at some kind of expensive exhibit. But then, I've disallowed her from entering my room without my permission (unless its to wake me up, of course). She is restricted, down to the fact that i need my privacy as a teenage boy...!"If i catch you taking even one step out of this house within the next month, i swear i will add another month onto all this!" She shouts whilst wagging a finger at me. I don't give a shit. No matter what she says, I'm leaving this craphole tonight and going to that park - even if it takes all the effort i have in me.
6 hour later, my mum comes into my room peacefully and checks if i'm asleep. "When are you sleeping?" She asks me, yawning.
"Not till later, I have a written assignment to complete for monday and I'm busy tomorrow going out with my friends... Oh, wait! Im grounded," i, quite rudely, complain. She rolls her eyes and leaves the room, obviously going to bed now as My dad has just arrived home from South Georgia. Looking at my watch, I decide i need to think up some kind of plan of action to escape my bedroom and arrive back without getting caught. My usual curfew was one o'clock so I probably could've gotten away with it if my mother hadn't have over-reacted. But then, she did, so...I place an A4 sheet of plain paper on my desk and think, where is the location of that park exactly? If only i had a map... Ah! I shuffle the paper aside, remembering that the internet exist so, clearly there is no need for wretched tree bark! I type up google maps and zoom in on my current location. I know that the park isn't far away, a couple of miles at maximum, but then i don't want to waste time walking two miles - that time could be spent with Isabelle. I take the decision to take the car as when I trail around on google maps, I realise the park is half a mile over two miles, nearer to where she lives. i know where Isabelle lives, not because i stalk her (I'm not that madly obsessed with her), but because i was simply on my way to school one day and there she was, wandering out of her front door. :)
I write down the directions on the piece of paper I had out... Then i realise that iPhones exist, no need for wretched tree bark! I type out the directions on notes, put the phone in my jean pocket and open my bedroom window above the desk. The window is clearly large enough to fit an average sized Isaac through it; I just have to open it all the way, climb up onto my desk, duck my head and matted hair through it and then the remainder of my body follow through the open window. i am currently planted on the porch roof, sat with my knees tucked into my chest looking like a total loner. Thank god no cars are whizzing past right now... Just as I think to myself exactly that, three cars suddenly zoom past in a short row...
I had my trainers on already because of my Mum's carelessness about footprints around the house unlike my OCD father who wasn't home when I arrived back from the cafe. So with great bravery plus a large build up of courage, I leap off the porch roof about three metres down and land on my two feet, then I pull out my car keys that i smartly left in my pocket earlier. I open the car door, climb in and turn the ignition find that, thankfully, the car has enough petrol - i haven't filled it up in a week. The engine starts and it takes a while for me to be able to pull the gear into reverse but soon enough, at about quarter to midnight, i get the tiny car going and I'm on the road. I balance my phone in front of me behind the steering wheel and follow the directions carefully to help me end up next to a large entrance with big letters engraved onto the top, 'OakBridge park'.
