BEEP, BEEP, BEE-
My hand instantly slammed down on the small electronic alarm clock, placed to the left side of my kingsized bed. I pushed myself up in to a sitting position, using my weak arms to support my body. Once my head rested against the push headboard and my eyes had adjusted to the harsh lighting, i looked around my room.
blank white walls, large wooden bookcases, clothes scattered on the floor, a glass door...
I pulled the thick duvet off myself and begin the walk towards the marble kitchen. I rubbed my eyes and groaned, waiting for the kettle to finish boiling. My mind wandered to George...GEORGE. I walked out of the kitchen space and knocked on his bedroom door.
"George? Are you ok? Do you need water? a headache tablet? What abo-"
"MATTY, GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME AND MY ROOM."
"oh, right, you've got a hangover. I mean thats not surprising, you drank so much last night." a loud disgruntled sound emerged from Georges room, cutting me off mid-thought.
"Right, er, ill just go back to my room, see you in a few hours." i sighed, scratching the back of my neck and pacing back to my stark white room, with my coffee clutched in my hand.
I gently shut the door and turned towards the alarm clock. My eyebrows rose in surprise. 06:32AM. 'Jesus christ', i muttered, trying to shift the balcony door open - without spilling my coffee all over my impeccably white room.
I placed my mug on the small metal table beside me , before sinking into the surprisingly comfy garden chair. My eyes took in the view from up here, i hadn't had chance to look around yet, we (me, George, Adam and ross) moved in to the four bedroom apartment last night. We only had time to unpack a few shirts, maybe even a couple of pillows, before George took it upon himself to drag us out the apartment and 'explore the local night life'. In other words, George grew bored of unpacking and decided getting extremely drunk would help.
I glanced towards the bright sky, purples, oranges and pinks streaming through the sparce amount of clouds. A light humming could be heard from a few balcony down. I could feel my face twist in to a wide grin ; i didn't even know this girl. My head tilted towards the third door down. i could see a shadow pacing and hear the humming grow louder.
A girl stepped out, i couldn't guess her age exactly, but she couldn't be much younger than me. Her dark brown hair reached the end of her ribcage, and had a slight wave to it, like she had been tossing and turning, it was pretty cute actually. She had a large deep red jumper draped over her small frame, falling off one shoulder and reaching to her mid thigh. Under her jumper, were a pair of small black shorts, only noticeable when she walked. She was pretty cute actually.
As soon as she sat down, her hair moved from her face. Her face, i recognised it...
"SHIT." i fell off my chair, struck by realisation, my mug smashing on the floor. Before she could see me, i shuffled towards the wall and sat up so my back was flat against the wall.
"hello?" oh god. Her voice. It wasn't as harsh and sharp as it was when she was at work, it was soft, and gentle, and caring. Like honey dripping from her lips. That voice will be the death of me, maybe quite literally.

I climbed out of bed after hours of pacing my room and turning in my bed. I didn't get much sleep and i could feel it.
I stretched while walking towards the kitchen, a groan escaping my lips as i started to boil water, while pouring two instant coffee packets in to a large mug, i really need to have an early night, i muttered to no one in particular as i pour the steaming hot water into the mug, quickly stirring the coffee.
I began to hum to a tune of a song while i looked for the key to my balcony door, i decided to watch the sunrise this morning. Once i found the key underneath a pile of books, i quickly placed it in to the lock and pushed open the door.
It was a beautiful day today, its a shame I'm probably going to spend it sleeping, James has been giving me way to many night shifts lately. I found myself thinking about the boy i had seen last night, I've never seen him or his friend around the building block, i wonder if they've moved in recently.
I pulled my loose jumper around my body as i shivered slightly, mentally cursing myself for not wearing something warmer, in the middle of autumn. My eyes shuttered close and my body released a sigh, leaning back in the metal chair. My eyes snapped open as quick as they closed, desperate to not fall asleep, especially on my balcony. I peered around at my surroundings, feeling like i was being watched.
As soon as my eyes reached the right of me, a loud crash could be heard from doors down, followed by a loud curse and a smash of a mug. I was confused as i couldn't see a soul in sight. Was someone watching me? Was someone even there?
"hello?..." I asked, the uneasiness seeping in to my voice.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Hello !! Im so so so sorry i haven't updated in two months, i just didn't have the motivation to update and i didn't really know what to put. I tried to write a longer chapter to make up from the lack of updates.
Incase anyone was wondering, matty (the robber, in the story) has never been properly photographed, she even when melissa does meet him, she won't recognise him from the first chapter, when she nearly caught him as it was really dark and in an alley way.
I hope you enjoyed this update !
