I finished cleaning up his mess, and headed back down, walking into my cement prison. I sighed as I crouched down, my eyes scanning the room. I saw something glint on the table. That wasn't there before... I stood back up using the wall for support, and limped over to the table. My eyes widened slightly as I realized what the object was. A gun. A real, honest-to-god fucking gun. I hesitantly reached out, taking it in my hands and looking over it. It was cocked and loaded and everything, which surprised me. Why would He leave a gun down here? I ignored the footsteps going down the stairs, as they were light, so I assumed it was Brandy. Oh, how wrong I was. "What the-!?" His voice echoed around the room. I jumped, my head snapping up. He was seething. "Put. The gun. DOWN." Without thinking, I aimed it at him, a growl rumbling in my throat. He pulled out another gun, aiming it at me. I was about to pull the trigger, when I heard a scream. "RJ, DON'T!!" We were both startled by the voice and sure enough, Brandy was standing there at the foot of the staircase. I looked at him, about to put the gun down, but it was too late. He pulled the trigger, and as soon as I heard the loud explosion of the gunshot, I pulled the trigger on my gun. I suddenly felt a searing pain in my chest, and grit my teeth in unbearable burning pain. I watched as He slumped to the ground, blood pouring from a bullet hole in his head. Brandy screamed again, looking up at me in horror, before racing up the steps. I took off after her, dropping the gun, and bolted into the living room. She was in the kitchen, frantically calling the cops. I looked at her in disbelief. How could she BETRAY me like that!? I mean, I know I just killed someone, but we both hated him, and he shot me! I ran to the front door, throwing it open and racing outside. Not thinking, I ran straight into the woods, my vision blurry and my thoughts cloudy and light-headed from blood loss. I spun around a few times, desperately trying to catch my balance as everything swirled around me. I shook my head. I swear I just saw something move...! I heard police sirens in the distance, and whirled around in a miserably failing attempt to find where they were coming from. Everything- colors, sounds, and smells- blurred around me as I hopelessly tried to stay conscious. I feel to my knees, clutching my side, before everything went black.
