Chapter 15

Yes!!! So I guess the world isn't against me after all!!
Having my arms wrapped around Damon, the only thought in my head was how jace is probably feeling right now. As selfish as it may sound, I wasn't excited to see Damon or anything, nor did I care about the reason he was randomly at the same lake as I was. All I cared about was now I had someone to make jace jealous with. His angry growl a few seconds ago proved that his sexy smirk was long gone.
"What the hell are you doing here" jace sneaked up on us. I quickly increased the distance between me and Damon. For some reason it seemed like the right thing to do at that point. An unfamiliar feeling of guilt was also overtaking my wolf! Which was ridiculous because jace had done things much much worse.
"I don't have the time to fight with you jace, just leave us alone." Replied Damon
"YOURE TALKING TO MY....!" He paused for a few seconds while Damon looked at him confused " you're talking to my pack member, that makes this my business."
Oh ofcourse. Im just another pack member. Not his soul mate or anything.
"Well guess what jace" I intervened before Damon said anything "I don't need your permission when I talk to someone. You're not my alpha, or anyone else to me. So if you're worried about your so called pack member, then I can ensure you im in safe hands." A few moments of silence were passed between the three of us.
And here it was.
That extremely scary looking face that could bring goosebumps to any wolf. But not me. Im his mate. His eyes were now changing into a very dark blue. His fangs were slowly protruding. This usually happens when an individual's emotion are so extreme that it surpasses the human and brings out the wolf to deal with them.
"Is everything alright here?" It was alpha Mason, Kristys father and Jaces' grandfather.
"Nothing at all, alpha. Jace is acting a little too hostile towards my friend, here just because he's from another pack."
I glared at jace while I snitched him out to his grandpa.
Alpha Masons friendly laughter broke the tense environment around us. I noticed jace get distracted by his laughter and his eye started to change back to his normal shade.
"He's enemy." He said in a serious tone to no one in particular.
" No one is our enemy son. As wolves we treat everyone with the same respect they show us. That's the most important code. A true Alpha earns his respect. However, if anyone poses a threat to them. Our bloodline doesn't spare them. We finish them."
Weirdly enough alpha mason starter at damon while saying that last part.
Am I missing something here or something?
I decided to not overthink it and smiled at alpha masons general interest in us. However I was looking forward to get away from jace and spend some quality time with damon. I think I deserve it. Excuse us" I finally said and intertwined my hands with Damon's.
A heard a growl behind me. But I had now learnt to ignore it.
Although Damon was not my mate. However the jace was unable to give me the comfort Damon gave me. He was safe and jace was not.
So I've decided
Im gonna challenge the so called fates
I refuse to be Jace's mate. I deserve better.
And that is what I will go after
