"Mama?" Peggy asked as her mother wrapped up a present.
"Yes Peggy?"
"Why is there a party for Stevie if today is firework day?"
"You mean the Fourth of July?" Sharon replied.
Peggy nodded.
"Well, Steve was born on the same day. Today of last year. So he's one year old."
"Oh... So... Stevie and Amewica have the same birthday?"
Sharon laughed. "In a way, yes."
Peggy smiled.

"Thanks so much for helping me with this Sharon. I don't know what I'd do without you." Bucky was putting up streamers while Sharon decorated some cupcakes.
"You'd probably burn these and Steve wouldn't be able to have his first cupcake," Sharon replied as she frosted an American flag onto one. It was meant for Steve.
"Yeah..." Bucky set up the last streamer.
There was a knock at the door and Bucky went to get it. Natasha and Bruce stood at the door. Bruce was wearing a purple button-up shirt, while Natasha wore a grey and black hoodie. "Hey, heard you were having a party," Natasha said with a smirk.
Bucky let them in. "Yeah. I'm sure Steve will be happy to see you, he seems to like you guys when you come over."
"Where is he? I want to hold him." Natasha glanced around the room, looking for Steve's carrier.
"Over here," Bucky said as he led her over to a corner.
Steve was in a little motorized swing that was rocking him to sleep. Bucky turned off the device and picked up Steve. "Thanks for that thing Nat. It's really nice to free up my arms when he needs to be rocked to sleep."
Natasha carefully took Steve from Bucky. "It's not a problem. I figured you could use a little bit of help."
Bucky nodded and went back to decorating the apartment.
The place slowly began to fill up as more people arrived. Mrs. Fury came with her son, Nick, and a friend of his, Maria Hill. The two were practically inseparable.
Bucky looked down when he felt a tug on his pants. Peggy was standing there.
"Mr. Bucky? Can we let Stevie open his presents?" Peggy asked.
Bucky smiled at this. "Well, Steve can't actually open them, but we can still do that. Why don't you go to the table and we can have cupcakes too?"
Peggy smiled excitedly and went to get her friends. After telling them about the cupcakes, they all went and sat patiently at the table.
Bucky set Steve in his highchair as Sharon brought over a cupcake. "Happy birthday Stevie."
Steve looked at the cupcake curiously then up at Bucky, who scooped a bit of frosting onto his finger and offered it to Steve.
Steve reached out and took the frosting into his chubby palm and put it in his mouth. He then smiled happily and grabbed a handful of the sugary substance to shove into his mouth.
Sharon passed out cupcakes to the other three children to let them eat.
Peggy looked up at her mother. "Will Stevie be coming with us for the fireworks?" she asked.
Sharon shook her head. "No, he's still too young for that."
"Oh... Maybe we can do mini fireworks?"
Sharon smiled and ruffled her daughters hair. "Maybe."

Steve tried to keep himself awake, but he kept falling over. Everyone thought it was the cutest thing ever.
Bucky picked up Steve and cleaned up his face since it was covered with red, white, and blue frosting. "I think it's time for someone to go to bed."
Bucky let the kids say goodbye to Steve before taking him to his crib for the night. He simply hoped that the fireworks wouldn't wake him up. He kissed his head softly and set him down in the crib. "Goodnight, and happy birthday Stevie."
