2:45pm June 13th.
Today was a day I had been waiting for since what felt like forever. I had just finished my final GCSE exam and was done with that shit hole for 3 months. I didn't know where I was going back to for college and I didn't really care, I just wanted to get away from that place with the same monotonous students and teachers. With my bag slung over my shoulder I took the long way home through the fields and a small forest near where I live, its peaceful there. I can escape from all of the bitchy girls, immature boys, whining teachers and irritating parents. For as far as I could see.. Just me.
A call interrupted my tranquility as 'unknown number' popped up on my screen, after a brief second of questioning I answered.
"Hello" I said, putting emphasis on the "o", clearly doing a poor job at hiding my confusion.
"Hi, Amelia, is it?" Said, a what I would call, posh London accent. This guy meant business.
"Thats right, is everything ok?"
"Yes Amelia, everything is fine, try not to sound so worried. I am Brad from Pledis Enterprises, I saw your modelling portfolio online and was wondering if you were interested in international work?"
Wait a minute.. Modelling? For a minute I was blank until I remembered that my mother set up an account for me a while ago, the sly woman must have been updating it without telling me.
"Um, I'm not too sure I'd have to speak to my parents about it.. What is the job you are wanting me to do?" I couldn't help but sound bewildered, this was so random it must be one of those scams you see happening to young girls tricked by sleezy men into what they say will be modelling.
"We are recruiting for stage girlfriends for an up and coming k-pop band Seventeen. We are interested in you being one of the boys' public sweetheart girlfriend..actually he actually picked you out of hundreds of candidates himself. But anyway all will be explained if you accept to come to a meeting with us. Obviously bring a parent, I'll send the details to the email on the portfolio." He said in his charming southern accent.
"Ok cool, I'll speak to my mum but yeah.. Nice, sounds good." Wow could I have sounded any more awkward, why am I actually considering this.. Korea??? The closest I've got to Korea in my life is eating Japanese food at Yo!Sushi, now I'm being asked to work over there as a human accessory, what an odd start to the summer.
