She watches him, blonde curls bouncing, blue eyes sparkling, and the little ruffles in the corner of his smile. Mesmerized by the boy she forgets to tune into the rest of the conversation.
"Sam! Hello? Truth or dare?" Kira, her best friend, asks giggling.
"Oh, um, dare I guess.." she forces herself to say, straying away from the safety of a truth. All actions come with a price, and her dare leaves her face rosy and eyelashes batting.
"Okay it says you have to kiss someone of the opposite sex for 15 seconds. Knowing you, I'll allow the cheek." Kira says simultaneously talking to Sam and the boy. There were only two males in the room, her crush and his awkward friend, Gage.
"I guess I'll kiss Kai." Sam says slowly.
She gets up, hands wrapped around her stomach for comfort.
Only 15 seconds. I can do this. One, two, three.
She slams her puckered expression onto the soft skin and waits.
15...12...10...7...4...3...2...1
"Done!" The best friend yells. Kira looks at Sam and as she walks back to her spot on the plush carpet, the faintest whisper escapes. "You're welcome." Sam looks at her evil excited grin and understands. That wasn't what the game said she had to do.
