Chapter 9

Bea's POV

I woke up next to Lee. He already felt like a big brother to me. The sun was shining through the window perfectly. It was so pretty. I smiled as Lee was still sleeping. He was snoring a bit, but it wasn't loud. I wonder if he actually liked me.

I looked at the clock, it was 8:30 a.m. I rubbed my eyes and yawned. I heard someone come out of the bedroom from upstairs. Stampy walked down the stairs. He was yawning and still in his pajamas. He saw I was up and asked if I wanted breakfast. I said sure and carefully got up trying not to wake up Lee.

"Morning Stampy. What's for breakfast"? I asked

"I'll make some pancakes, because that's really the only thing I can make". He laughed as he said that.

"Lee must be tired". I said as I looked at him.

"He's been dealing with a lot right now. I'm pretty sure that couch feels like heaven to him". He said.

"What's been going on"? I asked

"Just stuff". I could tell he didn't want to tell me. Oh well.

He was done making the pancakes.

We both sat at the table and started eating. It was so yummy.

"So, why don't you want to tell me"? I asked.

"Huh? Oh, it's just grown up stuff". He said.

I was mad he didn't tell me. I'll find a way to find out. It can't be that bad. Lee wouldn't take me with him if it was bad. Right? I guess I have a secret too and I'm ashamed of it. I can't help it though. I hope his is one of those.

I poured more syrup on the pancakes and added a little more butter. I finished not to long after.

Lee woke up right when we both finished. Stampy served him two pancakes and gave him a  cup of tea. I went to our bedroom and got dressed. I then remembered I didn't have any other clothes. I forgot I didn't have time to pack.

I walked back out and went up to Stampy.

"Umm, Stampy, I don't have any clothes. I didn't pack anything because we didn't have time and I thought my dad was picking me up that night". I said.

"That's ok, that means we can go get you some clothes". He said.

I smiled and combed my hair with a random comb I found in the bathroom. I found it a little grouse, but then I realized it was probably just Stampy's.  I walked back out into the living room and turned on the TV.

Stampy came down the stairs wearing blue jeans and a I Wonder shirt on. Lee finished and walked upstairs to change. He came back down with shorts on and a white T-shirt. We walk out the door to go shopping.

Before we went shopping we stopped at someone's house. Stampy walked up and knocked on the door. This girl came out and waved to Lee. Lee got in back with me as the girl sat up front.

"Sqaishey this is Lee's friend, Bea". Stampy said.

"Hi I'm Sqaishey". She said.

"Hi I'm Bea". I said.

We drove off again.

"So Lee, how did you too meet, and Lee your back"!?! She said.

"Well I was trudging my way through a storm trying to get to the train station. I heard sniffles. I said hello and I got a response. I walked over to the curb. I saw Bea sitting there crying. Her dad never picked her up the night before, so I told her to come with me. So she snuck on the train and here we are". Lee said.

"How old are you Bea"? Sqaishey asked.

"I'm six". I said

I looked over and saw Lee get a little glum when I said my age.

"What's wrong Lee"? I asked quietly.

"Nothing, it's just I have a little sister I had to leave, and she's six too. It just reminded me of her". He said.

I turned away and looked out the window. I started thinking of my older brother. He looked about the same age as Lee.

Sqaishey's POV
---------------------

Stampy came to my house to take us shopping. We arrived to the mall about an hour later. I looked over at Stampy and smiled. He looked back and smiled.

"I'll take Bea to get some clothes, you boys go to the video game store". I said.

I smiled down at Bea. We walked off. We arrived at a store she picked. She picked out three pairs of leggings, a sweat shirt, and three cute tops. I also got her some new shoes. I got her a pair of tennis shoes and a pair of boots.

She went to the bathroom to change. She came out and gave me a sassy walk. I giggled and gave her a thumbs up.

"Are you going to get any clothes"? Bea asked.

"No, I'm good for now". I said.

"Come on, you have to get something". She said.

"Ok fine".

We go to my favorite store. I loved Rue 21. I got two leggings and a few cute tops. I also got a pair of boots. I put on my new outfit.

We met up with the boys. We left the and we all go to Stampy's. It was a fun day.

Lee's POV
--------------

That night I took Stampy to the other room and told him what happened. I didn't see Bea peeking in the door.

"My dad yelled at me and my dad threatened to hit me with a bat. My mom and sister tried to stop him. He was to strong for them. He pushed through them. I grabbed my bag and just started running. My little sister started chasing after me. My dad and mom were right behind her. I went to an alley way. My mom and sister tried to get me to stay. My dad just yelled at me more. I ran down the alley. I yelled I'm never coming back. Then my dad replied yelling good. So that's what happened". I said.

"Just because you tried to come home to face your charges and be honest. He yells at you. Well, that's not very nice".

"I know what I did was very wrong. I wish I never done that".

I sat on the bed and put my head down.

"You know Lee, I'm not made at you, it's just I can't believe you would do that. I can't believe your a sex offender".

At that moment Bea burst through the door. She was crying.

"WHY WOULDN'T YOU TELL ME THAT"!! Bea yelled.

"Bea you weren't supposed to hear that". I said.

I stood up and tried to walk closer to her. She took a few steps back. Sqaishey ran upstairs and saw what happened.

"I TRUSTED YOU, I CAME ALL THIS WAY WITH YOU. I WAS THINKING OH HEY THIS GUY IS NICE ,BUT NO HE'S A LIER"!! She yelled.

She ran to our room and grabbed her stuff. She ran downstairs and out the door. Why do I have to lose everyone I care about. I ran after her. I didn't care about anything. I needed to get Bea back.

"BEA, COME BACK"! I tried yelling after her.

I turned around. I saw Stampy and Sqaishey standing in the driveway. Then I heard Stampy yelling. It felt like everything was in slow motion. I had a weird feeling in my gut. I turned around and saw Bea still running. I ran as fast as I could after her. Then I realized why Stampy was yelling. There was a car coming about to hit Bea. It was slowing down at all. She didn't notice. She finally turned and saw it.

She just froze.

Hey guys. Sorry for the cliffhanger. I hope you enjoyed the chapter. Now, school is starting in a few days. I might not update every day. I will try my best. I have a lot of sports going on. A lot of volleyball and basketball games. But I will try to update at least once every two days. :) I'm sure I can make time, but you never know. Anyway I hope you enjoyed my chapter. :)~ Jess
