As I stepped out of the jet, the airbase wasn't that busy and jets were lined up on the sides. The sky was still dark but. Why? Because it's seven in the evening.
I was still caught up with jet lag because of the ten-hour flight. Originally, it's supposed to be seventeen hours. Thanks to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s private and super fast jets, the flight duration decreased.
Agent Jasper Sitwell, the bald agent with glasses and in a suit, picked me up and drove me in a black S.H.I.E.L.D. jeep to S.H.I.E.L.D. HQ.
"So, Agent Sitwell," I said at the back seat. "How's everybody?"
"Everybody's well," he answered. "In fact, we all miss our Little Agent Ronnie." I heard a little giggle after he spoke. And I was a little annoyed because he called me 'little' but I giggled along.
We arrived in the S.H.I.E.L.D. basement parking and we head to Director Fury's office. Agent Sitwell left because I said I can handle Fury.
As the doors open, the door leading to a conference room on the back of the office was shut closed. But it still didn't covered Fury's voice blabbing something about kids.
"So, instead of a team of superheroes, I have a group of freaking toddlers!" I can tell, Fury was freaking pissed. It made me giggle.
"You're not supposed to swear in front of kids, you know?" I heard a small kid's voice spoke. It made me curious. "And we're not toddlers! Toddlers are babies!" The kid was at the other side of the doorway. Yet, I can't really identify who it was because the glass door was blurry. "Who are you, anyway?" he asked suspiciously.
"That is none of your business. Hill!" Fury yelled.
"Yes, sir?" answered Maria.
"You're on babysitting duty," he commanded.
Babysitting?
I see his figure walked towards the door. The door slid open and he really looked pissed. I cleared my throat and he flinched.
"What brings you back here, Agent Lorenzo?" he asked. He sounded annoyed.
"Did you forget that I told you I'm gonna return here for summer?" I asked as I crossed my arms. "Why are you pissed, anyway? And who was that kid inside the conference room?"
Maria walked out the conference room. "Sir?" she said. Then, she looked at me. Finally, a smile appeared on her face. She walked towards me and hugged me, as if she didn't see me for a long time. I hugged her back. "Oh, I missed you, Ronica!"
"I missed you too, Maria!" I answered, amused. We let go. "Anyway, I'm so happy to be back here to be on your side for the rest of the summer."
"Since you're gonna be with her for the summer," interrupts Fury, who I forgot was in the room. "Why don't you take her babysitting with you?"
"Babysitting?" I asked suspiciously. "Who are we gonna be babysitting?"
I actually love kids, though. And I've been babysitting my brothers and my little cousins since then so, this'll be easy. And I got excited.
A little boy, who is about five years old, came out of the conference room. He has dirty blonde hair and he was about 3 feet tall. He was thin and he looked frail. But he still looks cute and adorable.
"Him," said Maria, pertaining to the little boy. "And there are six others."
I walked closer to the kid and got down on my right knee. I held out my hand and introduced myself. "Hello! My name is Ronica." I smiled. "What's your name, little boy?"
He took my hand with his little one and smiled. He was so adorable, I want to pinch his cheeks. "Hello, ma'am!" His voice was even cuter. "My name is Steve."
I shook his hand playfully. "You know, I have a friend named Steve. He also looks like you, only he is a grown up." I said, thinking of Steve Rogers. I wondered where he was and the other five.
I heard Fury sighed.
"Uhh, Ronica," said Maria. I looked at her. "That IS Steve."

After seeing and meeting the other miniaturized Avengers and Pepper, I squealed after seeing them because they are SO adorable like guinea pigs and kittens and puppies... or any other cute animals. You only see them once like this, all adorable and innocent and fragile. But mostly adorable.
Then, Maria explained to me what happened to them. About Tony and Bruce's experiment. The anti-ageing effects had erased almost all of their memories from before they had been that age for the first time. So, I have to come up with the smartest lies if they ask about their parents or anything about their childhood, which I'm gonna have a hard and sobbingly time about.
The one that I had been carrying around in my arms was Little Stevie, which I decided to call him because he's just really cute and adorable and innocent. I just couldn't believe that my closest friend in S.H.I.E.L.D., and I'm also his closest friend here as told me before, turned into a little boy and he's very adorable. It's like I'm his big sister now. His very protective and caring big sister. Or babysitter, rather.
Also, Maria told me that we needed to bring them to the S.H.I.E.L.D. base in Florida since it's the least busy and has the most unused rooms.
"Well, I guess we're stuck with them," Maria said, who's beside me. She turned to the kids. "Wanna help me 'borrow' a jet?"
