Basement For Rent

Preface

"Harry, come down, we need to talk!" My mom yells from the kitchen.

''Mom, I'm on my Xbox!" I groan, jabbing at the buttons on my controller.

"Harry Edward Styles, down here now!" my mom yells again, but this time I hear anger laced in her voice so I quickly stop the game and run down to the kitchen , where I find my mom sitting on our dinning room table.

"What's up?" I ask, sitting down across from her.

"Harry, you know that the last couple months have been difficult for me financially and I can't afford the mortgage. So I've decided to rent our basement." my mom says sternly.

"Okay, so?" I ask trying to find the reason why she's telling me this, it'll take a while for her to find someone anyway.

"Well I already found, someone who is willing to rent our basement." my mom says, fumbling with her hands.

"What?" how did she possibly find someone this fast? "Mom, who is the person renting the basement?"

"It's Linda Jennings, from church and her daughter, I don't remember her name. She's in the same grade as you." My mom smiles enthusiastically. But I am not happy about this like she thinks I am.

"Leah Jennings! Oh my fucking God mom, there's no way I am living under the same roof as her!" I yell, pissed that I have to live with the most annoying girl on the face of the earth.

"Well too bad, Harry your not the one paying the bills, and anyway Leah is going through some rough times right now with her parents divorce, she really needs a friend!" my mom tells with sympathy in her tone.

"When do they move in?" I yammer, pissed at this.

"August 1st, before school starts."

I quickly stand up from my chair and grab my car keys.

"Where are you going?" my mom asks with no rage in her voice

"To enjoy my last month, without annoyance."
