"Hey Rach, Carol is going to drop Ben off in like, a half an hour, are you going to be home because I have to run to the pharmacy to pick up his ear infection medicine?" I asked Rachel, slouching down on the couch and turning off the TV.

"Yeah, I'll be here," She sat down next to me, rubbing my forearm. She grinned at me and kissed me on the cheek, leaving some damp lip gloss remaining. She giggled and licked her thumb and wiped it off.

"I'm not five-years-old, Rach," I laughed.

20 minutes later

There was a knock at the door. I quickly hopped up from the couch and opened the door to Carol, looking beautiful as always. Even though I was with Rachel, I still had some residual feelings for Carol, and I always will have.

Her white-blond hair was in tight curls, spilling down her shoulders. Standing in front of her was my son, Ben.

"Hey Ben!" I let them both in. Ben gave me a hug and quickly ran over to Rachel and gave her a hug, too.

"Hey Ross, can I talk to you for a second?" Carol's expression suddenly morphed to seriousness. I nodded and she lead me out into the hall. She closed to door.

"What's up?"

"Um, Ross, I don't know how to tell you this..." She lowered her eyes, twirling a tendril of hair around her index finger. "I'm...not..."

"You're not...what?" I said in a perturbed tone.

She let out a sigh. "I shouldn't---"

"No, tell me. You can tell me anything, you know that," I held her hands.

"I'm not a lesbian."
