I don't know what in the hell I was thinking. I didn't like him. Or did I? I wasn't sure what made me kiss him but I did and that's the first mistake I made.
He pulled away. "Yes," Chris said. "Yes."
I smiled shyly. What?!? Who was I turning into. You don't date, Zoë. What's wrong with you?
It didn't feel right to tell him it was a dare. Especially after I had just lead him on. I swore to myself I would tell him at the end of the day. We walked inside and Riley gave me a look that asked, "What did he say?"
I gave a slight nod and she held back I laugh. I was tempted to flip her off again.
My situation was not funny. At all. Not the slightest bit.
I was confused at myself. She had no write to think that was funny. I decided to do what I always do. Talk to Josh.At dinner that night, I couldn't eat, even though it was my favorite. Josh could tell something was up.
"Okay, sis, spill the beans or I'll make you spill them," he raised his fork menacingly as a joke. After laughing a tiny bit to be polite, (I wasn't in the mood for jokes), I explained it all.
"So there was this dare," I started.
"I hate it already but go on."
"Faith dared me to ask Chris out. As you know, I never back down. Interesting factor: Chris liked me, but I didn't take into account how desperate he would be after breaking up with Faith. Now promise you won't interrupt me till I'm done."
Josh pretended to zip his lip and throw away the key.
"When I asked Josh out, he kissed me, and I kissed back. Okay, kill me now."
Josh pretended to explode.
"What the hell? What happened to no dating? Do you like him? How far did you go? Never mind I don't want to know that. ZOË!!"
I thought his reaction would be worse. I was pleased, but neither of us said anything after his explosion. We just sat in silence.
