Interview Famely
@natashapreston, as requested!
Q1.) What was your inspiration?
A1.) My inspiration I suppose comes from wanting to provide for my family and my love of writing. I don't need much encouragement to get writing, I do it because I love it.
Q2.) How did you pick your characters?
A2.) I don't pick my characters. Without sounding like a crazy person, they pick themselves. When I think of a plot characters just seem to spring from my mind. I've never had to think up a character, I know instantly who they are and what they're like.
Q3.) Are there any new books of yours that are coming out soon?
A3.) I have plans to publish. One or two more this year, two-three next year and four the following year. I have more written and to write, but I'm not sure when/if they will be published. I want to leave some on Wattpad. My next Wattpad story is starting at the end of this month.
Q4.) Why did you start writing?
A4.) I started writing after I found the Wattpad app. Before that I never even thought about writing. If I hadn't have stumbled across Wattpad I wouldn't be writing now.
Q5.) What brought you to wattpad?
A5.) Ah I think I sort of answered this in question 4! I found Wattpad while scrolling through the app store. It was completely by accident, I wasn't even looking for a reading app!
Q6.) When you first started out, did you ever think you would become so popular?
A6.) Never. I just hoped that I would get a few reads and some opinions. I love writing so for me it's not about 'popularity' or numbers. Don't get me wrong, I love my 'followers' and readers and it means so much to me that people vote, etc but I'm just doing this because I love writing. I'm lucky that so many people have enjoyed what I've put up.
Q7.) Besides writing, what are your hobbies?
A7.) I love spending time with my son, keeping him amused and making him giggle is the best thing in the world. My other hobbies are reading, cinema and skiing, although I've not been skiing for so long now!
Q8.) If you could be a writer one day, would you be?
A8.) Ah I'm a writer today lol! I'm lucky enough to have been able to make this my job. It doesn't really feel like a job, though!
Q9.) Does writing come naturally to you?
A9.) I'd say it does. I find it very easy to sit down and type a story most of the time. I don't think anyone is 100% natural at writing or there would never be any room for improving. I still have things I need to work on, etc. I think it comes as naturally as it can.
Q10.) Do you think your past mistakes made you a better writer?
A10.) Definitely. No matter what anyone claims, the first thing you write is not good! But it's not really supposed to be. Practice is your best friend. Write as much as you can and you'll find yourself improving all the time. I look back at previous things and cringe but at the same time feel proud that I've improved. You don't start out great, you have to work at it.
