A/N: I am just having a bad day so I decided to just start writing. I have no idea where I am going to go with this story, but I hope you like what I have so far.
The snow was falling heavily over Wolf Creek, so much that if you didn't know the area very well that you'd fall to your death through the snow. The treacherous was unforgiving as was the Alpha who ruled there, Carter Nikolai. Traveling through the snow was nothing to him, it was as easy as breathing. His big, black furred paws left huge impressions in the snow as he moved through the snow. The contrast of the white snow and his black fur would make one think of a classic black and white silent film.
'Alpha Carter the West side is clear and secure,' a voice said through Carter's mind link.
'Check next South side, Tucker and send Demetrius to go search the North side. I don't want any rogues in my territory. I am almost done checking the East side. Report back to me at the pack house when you two are done,' Carter states back gruffly while approaching the group of trees signaling the Eastern boarder.
A blur shot out of the trees straight at Carter, making him tense and sink into an attack position. A sandy colored wolf rushed past him and skidded to the side of the snowy embankment to the left of Carter.
'Rogue. I'm going to have fun killing you for trespassing,' Carter mind-linked with the other wolf.
Hazel eyes stared back at him as a soft female voice replied, 'I apologize I did not know that any other wolves lived in this dangerous area.' The she-wolf bowed her head in respect and that's when her scent finally hit him. 'MATE! MATE, SHE IS OUR MATE! ' Carter's wolf shouted at him and he had to tighten his control on his wolf before he took over. A growl slipped out though, making the she-wolf look directly into his eyes, recognition setting in.
'She knows,' Carter thought. 'You will come back with me to my pack until I decide what to do with you,' Carter said over the mind-link before stepping up so he could tower over the other wolf. 'What is your name, rogue?'
'Effi, Effi Adler,' the she-wolf replies bowing her head in respect. 'Well at least she is respectful,' Carter thinks before barking at her to follow leading the way back to his pack.

The Alpha, Effi was pretty sure he was one due to the authority that emanated from him, led her through the snow without a word. She wasn't quite sure what to think or feel. After all she had been through to finally find her mate and him to be an Alpha that could survive in such a terrible area was mind blowing. It didn't make sense to her. Effi was one to follow orders and not ask questions. She wasn't strong, the only reason she had survived this long as a rogue by herself had been her lessons from her father and dumb luck. Now being in the presence of such a powerful Alpha Effi wasn't sure what to do other than follow what ever he said and hope everything would be okay. She had no home to go to, no family left alive, no one to miss her. Effi had nothing so if this Alpha was her mate she would do what ever it took to keep him and make him happy, which seemed like that was going to be a big challenge. The Alpha came to a stop as two wolves approached from the forest one they were both had deep brown fur but the one on the left had green eyes unlike the blue eyed one. 'This rogue is in my custody. I will decide what to do with her later. Inform the rest of the pack that she is not to be talked to , touched, or looked at' Carter stated through the mind-link before continuing on. Effi quickly continued on trying to keep up with Carter's big strides through the thick snow.
As she passed Effi noticed the two brown wolves had their head's bowed and eyes lowered in respect. 'He really is a respected Alpha for sure,' Effi thought.
It wasn't long a group of cabins came into view. Carter grabbed some clothes off the porch and shifted back and changed quickly before he held open the door for Effi who was still in wolf form. She tried to not ogle at him her heart rate beating faster as she got her first sight of her mates human form. Effi's claws clicked on the wood floor as she stepped into the cabin. It was big and very neutral in color with no pictures or anything remotely personal in it. Carter left Effi in the entrance for a moment before coming back with a bundle of clothes. "Shift and change into these," Carter said as he pointed to what looked like an bathroom. Effi gently took the clothes from him in her mouth and padded over to bathroom nudging the door closed the best she could in wolf form before she shifted. Effi shut the door all the way and assessed what the Alpha had brought for her. Holding out the first article she noticed was a huge gray sweatshirt. Pulling it quickly over her head Effi felt swamped in it but warm. Her mate's scent enveloped her from the sweatshirt, making Effi blush. She pulled on the second article of clothing, a pair of black boxers. Effi turned into the mirror and looked at herself. It had been 3 months since she had last been in human form, and 7 months since she last had seen her own self in the mirror. Her light blue hair was ruffled and fell past her shoulders with few straggler hairs in front of her face. Effi pushed the hairs out of the way so she could gaze at her boring hazel eyes that she never cared for. Her pale skin and lips made her feel washed out and ugly. 'Why would an Alpha ever want to be mated to an ugly girl like me,'she thought as she sighed before walking out of the bathroom look at the Alpha. He was sitting on one of two couches in the room, somehow looking incredibly like a Greek god with his huge frame folded so gracefully. It made Effi have to remind herself to breathe as a blush flushed her face. Carter's eyes locked with Effi's before he looked her up and down, his eyes assessing her making Effi want to squirm.
"Come closer," the Alpha's deep voice said breaking the silence. Before she could think about it her body moved closer to him until she was right in front of him. Even sitting down Effi still had to look up at him. "I am Carter Nikolai, the Alpha of Wolf Creek pack. I recognize that you are my mate, but I have yet to decide if I should accept you," he stated as his gaze observed Effi's every move. Shock corsed through Carter when Effi said, "I understand. I am Effi Adler a rogue and the only member from the Red Grove pack. Whatever you decide I will respect."
"You are strange," Carter said making Effi flinch a little. "Most she-wolves would demand to know and be accepted. Are you not afraid of rejection?"
Taking a deep breathe to gather her courage Effi smiled bitterly up at Carter stating, "I am very afraid. I am a rogue with no place to go and no one wants me. I am hardly someone worthy or desired as a mate for an powerful Alpha as yourself. But at the same time, the fates have put us together as mates so whatever you decide will come. I know that I already love you, but it all depend on what you want."
"How do you love someone you have just met?" Carter could not believe what was happening. How was it possible that he would actually find his mate and for her to be such a wonderful person. It was like the fates loved to f*ck with him. "The fates must be very unkind to you Effi, for I am not someone who can love. If I accept you I will never be able to love you back. I am incapable of it. If I accept you can you deal with the monster that I am? I have many enemies that will come after both of us. I will protect you, but you'd be signing your death warrant. Is it worth it? Do you wish for me to accept you?"
Carter stared into the unwavering hazel eyes as Effi took in all that he said. "I believe in the fates and I believe in you, Carter. I maybe wont be able to make you love me, but I will do my best to make you happy until the day I die. Everyone has monsters. I will embrace all of you as my mate. As for me signing my death warrant, I'm a rogue, and could die any day without a pack it makes no difference being with you or by myself because I will be in danger either way. My answer if yes. Yes, I want you to accept me as your mate.
"I warned you, Effi never say I didn't. I, Alpha Carter Nikolai of the Wolf Creek pack accept you Effi Adler as my mate," he said before he pulled Effi closer by her shoulders until he sunk his teeth into her neck, marking her as his.
