I came up behind him kissing his neck. "Stop stomping around here" He didn't say anything just tilted his head so I had more room. "I'm sorry about today, I love you" I kissed his sucked on his neck until he answered. "I love you too" He whispered.

Over the last month Taehyung started to learn that silence was safer.

Not the soft, thought kind people admired—but a careful, practice silence, The kind that hid things, The kind that made the nurses nod and say, "He's doing so much better"

Taehyung sat at the kitchen table, spoon dragging lazily through a bowl of cereal gone soggy. Sitting next to him on either side, Jimin and Jungkook talked while quietly watching him with hope, the kind that trembled with every breath.

"You okay Bubs?" Jungkook asked

Taehyung nodded. He didn't trust himself not to lash out. Mornings could sometimes be the worst—before the world fully settled, before the noise in his head learned to disguise itself.

Because it did disguise itself. It had gotten answer.

You could push the spoon through your hand, it whispered, almost idly. Just to see. Just to see how it feel.

Taehyung lifted the spoon to his mouth instead. Chewed. Swallowed.

"I've been thinking," Jimin continued, cautiously, "maybe we should check in with your doctor to make sure the meds are still working."

Taehyung forced a small shrug. Neutral. Safe

Inside, something laughed.

The pills were still in his pocket.

He could feel them pressing against his thigh even now—chalky, bitter things wrapped in orange plastic and expectation. He had gotten good at this part too. Accepting the bottle. Missing. Waiting. Then slipping them away when they weren't looking.

At first, he had flushed them.

That felt dramatic now. Suspicious.

Now he just kept them. Proof of something—he wasn't sure what. Control, maybe.

Or defience.

Or maybe he just liked knowing the choice was his. It was something he was finally in control of

Sometimes school was easier sometimes. Since Kai was gone, it whispered.

At school, everyone expected weirdness. Noise. Chaos. Everyone was used to him now, he was old new. So, no one looked too closely at him now that he kept to himself.

Taehyung moved through the hallways like a ghost, eyes forward, shoulders relaxed. He even remembered to smile and respond to his boyfriends who looked like blurs moving around him. Just enough to seem sane.

"Hey."

He almost didn't stop.

But quickly realized it was Jungkook.

Jungkook stood by the lockers, waiting for his boyfriends like normal. He eyes wandered, studied Taehyung for too long.

"Where were you during class?" Jimin looked up at him questioning.

Taehyung shrugged slightly. "Had stuff."

"Stuff?" His boyfriends said simtaniously.

He nodded, getting things out his locker. "Yeah."

They watched him for seconds too long, he noticed.

Taehyung had started to notice how everyone in the house would watch him more closely, Yoongi and Hoseok staying out later. It made him nauseous, angry, studied.
