I ran as fast as I could to the bus stop, but I was too late. The bus had already left... What was I going to do! I was going to be late for school, and I would miss first period and half of second period if I walked there. So I called who I would usually call to solve my problems, LAURA.
Ring... Ring... Ring... Hello?
"Hey Mandy, aren't you suppose to be in school right now?" She replied
I answered her question by saying " I missed my school bus" I paused for a second. " I was wond--"
" I'll be right there" which is a reasonable response from her. I saw a black RAV4 stop by my driveway and hopped in. Once again Laura saved me.
I entered through the school front door and knocked on my home room door. The teacher opened the door. I got a confronted in front of the entire class (which is the worst feeling ever), I quickly went to my seat and put my hoodie on to hide my face as this was the first time everybody was staring at me, and it wasn't for a good reason.
The rest of the day was terrible. I kept getting mad at myself for being late. After the bell rang, the teacher dismissed us and I was walking to the bus stop and then I see a black RAV4 and run up to it, "Hey I can give you a ride to Dunkin Donuts." Laura said. "But we don't have to go until 5:00..." I said " oops I meant lets go get out nails done and get frozen yogurt" I laughed, this was just what I needed I was so upset about something so small but I couldn't stop. I got in the front seat and we had an amazing time. After work, she asked me about something, "Mandy, don't act like you don't know something because you don't want me to know," " I have no idea what you are talking about." But I did. I didn't tell her that there was a school dance tomorrow and I wasn't going. " yes you do. Look I am going to be helping the comitee with decorating the dance and I will also be there. And just because you didn't get asked doesn't mean you can't go."
" how do you know I didn't get asked"
"Well did you"
"No," I said with a glum face.
Then suddenly, she told me to come in the car and that I was going to the dance and she was going to get me all dolled up. Yep. I know. I chose the best friend I the world.
