It was a bright, sunny morning and everyone in the house was busy doing something, from cleaning to sleeping. It was the summer holidays so I didn't have to do anything but study for some hours a week, it felt so good to be home like this and back to how our family used to be before I left. When I left they never wrote to me, called me, texted me or asked me how I was getting on. Sometimes I feel like they don't care about me but they must have a reason for not being able to contact me so much. As soon as I come back home everyone is always rushing around, I'm used to that, but they never seem to be bothered with me.

I walk downstairs, feeling extremely tired, and to my surprise there is a small brown package left on our coffee table. Mum walks past, busily hoovering the floor, and manages to quickly say,
"That package came for you in the post today, Elisha. If I were you I would have asked me by now who's it was, you never were much of a curious child were you? You just waited to be told what things were instead of discovering them yourself. Oh well, now I have much cleaning to do before your Dad gets home from his press conference so could you take your package and go upstairs please?"
"Ok mum, just call me down when you need me"
I manage to shout before she runs into the kitchen with the hoover.

I take the package upstairs and place it onto my bed, my bed has flower patterns on it and manga drawings on the duvet covers because I love to draw. I have a feeling that it's going to be what I ordered last autumn that never came. There's a thick layer of tape on the package that I can't rip so I walk over to my white cabinet and pull out a pair of black scissors, I cut off the tape and pull out the skin toned markers that I've been waiting for. I'm so happy that I have them! Suddenly I capture a glimpse of something white and brown out of the corner of my eye, it glides along the floor in a fast and swift motion and I manage to capture a glimpse of its head, it had pointed ears and blue eyes with sharp white whiskers, it's presence made me feel protected and safe as if I had met this "animal" before in the past. All I know is that it appeared in my bedroom then disappeared into thin air. I want it to come back, I need to know what it is.

I walk outside to get some fresh air and to my surprise the animal is there but I can see it much clearer now. It's a young cat that has white fur with milky brown patches and a lilac coloured collar that had a circular tag attached, I crouched down to see what his/her name was. It's name is treasure, a female I'm guessing and on the back it says 'I belong to you.' I'm not sure what to think of her at first but she starts brushing her face up against the side of my leg and I'm guessing she's thirsty and hungry, I walk inside to get her some milk, I then realised we had no cat food so I  run to the shop around the corner to buy some cat food for her. I never thought I'd ever own a cat!
