Into the Frying Pan

The guards had cold, unnerving eyes as Ben and James walked up to the sliding doors of the bank. The larger of the two guards peered at James' tag, before doing a full body search and check for equipment. Luckily, the briefcase containing the equipment had false compartments, or else all hell would break loose. Suddenly, the guard checking Ben grew suspicious, and told him to turn around. Just at that, the guard turned to his accomplice and whispered something into his ear. The other nodded, before a shot was sounded, and a mist of blood spurted over the wall. The alarm instantly sounded, blaring loudly. Ben had shot the guards in a single shot. He aimed another shot up at the guards inside, taking out the one with the tellers, while James shot at the one at the vault. The shot was misjudged, and flew over, harmlessly hitting the hard metal of the door. The alarm continued sounding, as Logan and Eddie came in with 4 sports bags. Ben finished off the last guard, before everybody regrouped quickly.

"Guys, we've got...." Ben said quickly as he checked his watch. " 4 and a half minutes to haul arse and get the money before making a break for it. Eddie, get the truck. Logan, help me with the door, James, see if you can set up a quick defense."

If you saw the bank from walking just into the building, the windows would be on the left, armchairs and desks would be in the middle, and tellers to the left. James quickly turned over  a few tables and chairs to surround the vault, as the first police vehicles showed up. Patrol cars and SWAT vans loaded with police moved quickly to surround the complex. Weapons raised, sights aimed, a helicopter flew overhead with two snipers onboard. The group quickly calculated roughly how many police officers and SWAT units would be outside, while counting their ammunition. All of them were dissapointed, but the job still had time. Logan held the door, as Ben inserted a hard drive loaded  with overide coding and stuck it next to the control panel to the vault using a glue like substance, before a timer started on the hard drive.

"1 minute to override." The mechanical voice sounded.

"Aw, crap. Guys, weapons at the ready, front entrance. Eddie should be coming back any sec now, as he left just as the cops got here. Ahhh.... James, the second the coppers get in here, shoot the windows to our right, then take your aim back. We didn't pack much ammunition blokes, so this is it." Ben ordered, before taking cover behind a pillar. "Pick a spot, stick to it, peek and shoot."

Smoke grenades smashed through the glass panes, obscuring the view for the group. SWAT soldiers began to move in, cautiously scanning every corner. Once they were about a third of the way in, James fired the first shot, taking a headshot right between the eyes. As all eyes turned to James, Ben and Logan fired repetitive shots, counting how many they killed.

"2! I got two!" Ben shouted.

"Same here!" The other two responded.

'Alright, that's about a vanload of them." Ben shouted back. "Let's move guys, come on."

The bank vault door slowly opened as the hydraulics slowly released the pressure. Everybody mentally begged the door to go faster, as the police shouted to each other outside, wondering what was happening. The smoke was still heavy, and only now becoming more transluscent. Inside, there was nothing but money. Shelf after shelf, nothing but money. The room was probably 10x10 metres, and about three metres high. We all opened our individual bags, except for Logan who was doing Eddie's for him. They threw the money off the shelves in armfuls, dropping into the sports bags. Once they were full, they ran full sprint for the right windows, which were now destroyed by James' eariler bullets. They all jumped through with 9mm bullets racing after them, ricocheting off walls and causing plaster to fly everywhere. There was Eddie in a Mercedes BenZ Sprinter, with the back doors already open. The back compartment of the van had been converted, with a bench on each side of the vehicle. James jumped in first, as they began throwing the money up. The police in the bank were still moving cautiously, still thinking they were going up against a larger force than just 4 blokes. More police rounded the corner to see the van. As Logan, the last person to climb in the van entered, Eddie slammed the reverse into gear before flooring the gas. The van shot backwards, as bullets raked the sides, causing sunlight to stream in. Onlookers screamed and ran, as the police stopped shooting due to collateral damage. We pulled into the next street, with police patrol cars in tow, firing as we went. Eddie dodged incoming traffic on the street, which although wide, was stilled busy. Ben opened the rear compartment doors, and began firing shots at the incoming police. They fired back, and hit him square in the chest, sending him flying backwards. James went to aid him to check, as Logan threw a money bag out the window, slamming right on the windscreen of the lead car, sending him into chaos. The car pulled a hard right, before smashing right into a Domino's. Ben recovered quickly, as the shot only hit the kevlar protection.

Eddie pulled a hard left, which although risky, was calculated. The police drivers didn't have the extreme training that Eddie underwent. Police vehicles came from in front of the vehicle, and quickly formed a blockade. Our van quickly stopped, as the police behind us stopped as well, and began drawing weapons.

"Well guys, I guess this is it. We had a good run." Eddie said.

"Yeah, see you guys on the far side," Ben agreed.

The four exited the vehicle, with their hands on their heads as they went onto their knees, and waited for the gavel to judge them.

Sorry, guys not the best effort, but I didn't really think this one through but I didn't really know how to end it. Thanks for reading, Ben
