THE MIDNIGHT PUPPETEER [RISE of the SHADOWs]

Chapter-1 "SHADOW" and the Puppet Master

-Erica's P.O.V-

"Erica, as of today onwards you'll be paired up with this fella, Dan, to solve every cases given to you," was what my uncle - the head of the private detective group A.D.O (Archer's Detective Office) - has assigned me to. The tall and sturdy Mr. Wulf Archer then shoved me a bunch of papers consisting of my colleague's profile PLUS the case files.

Whoever that person is, he hadn't shown up at the office since this morning. Whereas I, Erica Blaze - a top-notch rookie detective - have been waiting for my soon-to-be partner the whole ridiculous day!!! Getting impatient, I rose from my office table and decided to take my leave, planning to investigate the crime scene alone.

As I stepped out of the building, I realized it was already late in the evening. The sun's rays glimmering slowly into the horizon...into a cluster of houses to be more exact. Not long after, I reached my destination. It was an old, abandoned mansion..., however, its appearance was not yet ruined nor run-down. There were two yellow tapes marked-off in a crossed position on the rusty metal gates; several numbers of the words 'KEEP OUT' and 'POLICE LINE' being printed on it.

"Whoo......" I sighed heavily after successfully stooping under the yellow tapes that were restricting me, then carefully accessed through the gateway. The cobble-stoned walkway eventually led me to the massive doors of the residence. I reluctantly pushed open them and went in.

"WOW!" I gaped at how LARGE its hallway was. The enormous entrance doors stood between two semi-circled windows, where other colossal four-edged windows stretched along the walls of the hall. Tall, white lacy curtains - embroidered with different flowery patterns - were dangling from the top of each of the four-edged window frames.

"No, no Erica! This isn't the time to be awed!" I scolded myself, looking around. Luckily, it was still visible due to the faint rays of the evening sun seeping through the glass windows. Furrowing my tan-colored brows in an act of determination, "OK, let's get to work!" I declared in my thoughts, and started the investigation.

-Dan's P.O.V-

"PLEASE! I BEG YOU! SPARE MY LIFE!!!" pleaded the man on the floor clutching on my feet. Fear and anger both envelop the poor chancellor at the same time. I crouched down to his ears while fixing my lustrous black topper.

"Well then, you shouldn't have interfered in the lives of humans..... But now...it's too late!" I alleged in a deep voice, then whispering the last; enough to provoke the demon inside. That was when 'it' went crazy....

"ARRRGGGHHHH!!!" bellowed the beast. The once mere human transformed into an ugly pitch-black devil-like-creature with horns on either sides of its head. "I'LL KILL YOU! I'LL KILL YOU AND RIP YOU INTO PIECES!!!" He roared from the bottom of his lungs, charging towards me with full speed. His large, round bloody eyes were full of grudge and hatred. The pointed white fangs shone as he gritted his teeth, while aiming a full swing with his long, sharp claws.

-Narrator's P.O.V-

In spite of its monstrous strength, the blood-thirsty brute didn't stand a chance against the young lad. He hasn't realized whom he was REALLY facing! In a flash of light, the young man made his last blow. Only then, the 'wild' understood. Whom he was facing......,"N-no way........M-MIDNIGHT PUPPETEER...!?" He took his last breath as soon as those words blurted out from his bloody mouth. Yes. The young man's known as 'The Midnight Puppeteer' for his infamous yet flawless assassinations.

After all the commotion, the demon lay dead in the pool of blood, which slowly spread across the ligneous floor...

"Disappear from this world.....'SHADOW'.........." Dan mumbled under his breath while staring at the transformation of the 'dead' back to its human form. "Now my job's done......" assured the young puppet master to himself...........or so he thought.....

A/N : Hello everyone! Nice to meet you! ^▽^ This is my FIRST and yes the VERY FIRST book I've written ever since I joined Wattpad. I got inspired in writing "The Midnight Puppeteer" after taking a quiz on the web based on the Creepypastas PLUS all those writers in here! XD... BUT, my story has its own plot.
