Crystal Armstrong was born in Maine to a Christian couple in 1977. Her parents raised her to be a strong follower of Jesus from a very early age. She attended church every Sunday and Wednesday with her parents and grandparents. Crystal endured many troubles throughout middle and high school. Her grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer when Crystal was 14, about a year after her grandfather died of a heart attack. Her grades dropped from straight A's to C's and F's. The worst struck when her parents were killed in a fiery car crash two years later on December 2, 1993.
Crystal was devastated. Her grandmother was unable to take her in due to her chemotherapy costs, and she had no other relatives in a position to take her in. She begged for her best friend Lindsey to let her stay a few nights, but Lindsey turned her down. Her family had guests staying that night.
Crystal went to the town's library and cried behind the shelf of romance novels. She decided that it was God's fault for letting her parents die and for the rest of her family's misfortune. Her anger at God built up inside of her heart until it exploded. She hated God. She hated all Christians because she could not see how they put their trust in Someone who has the power to give life yet took it from her family.
She graduated from high school in 1995, and majored in Statistics at California State University. She met an atheist man named Andrew Patrick her senior year. They dated for one year before he proposed. They were engaged for five years due to financial difficulties. Since they could not afford to have an extravagant wedding, they decided to keep their engagement a secret and elope.
Crystal Armstrong and Andrew Patrick got married during 2004 in Las Vegas, Nevada. After a long discussion, they swore to protect their children from the insane beliefs of Christians. Two years after their marriage, Crystal gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Once Andrew saw the baby's gorgeous face, he proposed the name of Arabella.
