liking a best friend

you just waited to long!

*ANGEL'S POV*

I was in the hospital,only days till the dance and I hear a whimper. "Who's there?"I asked a little scared because I didn't hear the door open. "Mejabfhfj~~"I hear a voice say. When I look at Gabby she had her eyes open and her hands were moving fine. "Angifrjd"I heard again but this time Gabby's lips were moving a little. "Gabby are you trying to say something?"I asked her and she nodded. I couldn't believe that this was happening right now,I should call the doctor. When I finally got the doctor and we entered Gabby's room he was shocked. "Well this is really something....she isn't suppose to wake up 2 month from now"the doctor said. Yes!!!! I was soooooo happy. "But she may or may not have some short memory loss so the things you do or say she may not remember" the doctor added before he left. Its been about like 3 hours now and Gabby only says senseless things there just like if a baby was talking so I didn't understand what she was saying. I started to worry because yeah she's awake and can move but the thing she most does is talk and if she can't do that it'll be so sad. "A....angel"I heard a someone whisper my name. "Angel"this time it was in a higher tone,when I look at Gabby she said my name again and I just couldn't believe it. I was so happy I just went to her and kissed her. I could feel that she was surprised but she didn't back away. "Who are you and why did you kiss me like that?"Gabby asked. "Well I'm your best friend and my name is Angel"I answered. "No wonder I was always saying Angel. Aren't best friends not suppose to kiss?". "Well......here we kiss because its a greeting so every time you want to greet someone you know you have to kiss them"I explained. Then after that we kept talking and it was like the first day we met,asking the same stupid questions and all the funny stuff we use to laugh about. I wonder why I started liking her now and not then...I wonder.

It was almost the spring formal and I was exited but I was going in purple and I don't like that color that much so I decided to go in blue. After getting ready I decided to text Gabby to see if she was ready to pic her up since I offered her a ride to the dance.

------- AT THE SPRING FORMAL-------

*GABBY'S POV*

I was getting out of the car when Angel went and helped me get out of the car. It was weird since he thinks I don't remember things and also because he has never done anything like that to me. "Thanks"I said,he just kept starring at me. When we entered the school jim it was packed and we could barely walk to the snack bar but eventually we got there. They had everything;soda,candy,cheese,meats,cake,brownies,etc. After about 20minutes of stuffing my face with little cheese triangles I see Angel walking towards me. "Gabby would you like to umm....dance with me?". "Y-yeah sure,j-just let me finish eating the cheese in my mouth!"I said almost not even understanding my self. He started laughing and took me by my wrist and guided me to the middle of the dance floor. We danced the night away but I was having some trouble with my tummy because of all the cheese and we decided to sit down for a couple of minutes. After like only 2 minutes Angel wanted to dance ,even if I was tired I just went with him because he looked so excited. We got up to dance an upbeat song but it then switched quickly to a slow song. Now Angel was grabbing my waist and I had my hands wrapped around his neck. "You look beautiful Gabby". "Thanks you look handsome as well"I said with a slight giggle. "Can I do something?"Angel asked with a deep voice. "Sure, anything"I responded. After that he started to lean in and I just kept getting back and back and back until Kenny went and stopped Angel. "What do you think you're doing buddy?"Angel said supper mad. "The same thing I should ask you. What the heck were you going to kiss my girlfriend?"Kenny asked.

I didn't want them to fight so I just stepped in. "Um.... Angel this is my boyfriend,Kenny. Kenny this is my best friend,Angel.". It got weird after a couple of minutes ,they were staring at each other. "Gabby can I talk to you?"Angel asked. "Be right back Kenny".

"Gabby I wanted to tell you that....man I don't know how to say this. Well I like you as more then a friend you know like the way that Kenny likes you. I was hoping that you would feel the same."he said really nervous. "Well I'm sorry but I don't like you in that way. I liked you in seventh grade and you just didn't care and know I was starting to like you but you were with Tenaysha so I met Nani's best guy friend witch is Kenny and since we had so much in common we went out and it actually turned out to be my first and best date ever"I said with the biggest smile . "But I left Tenaysha....I noticed that I like you even before I was with Tenaysha"he shouted lightly. "Well you noticed to late...."I said while walking away towards Kenny.

*ANGEL'S POV*

I was so sad about what she just told me. Maybe I did notice to late,maybe being with Tenaysha was a bad idea,maybe I should've listened to her in seventh grade.....everything would be so much better.......
