"Arthur...?"
"Hn..?"
Arthur opened his eyes partially revealing only darkness. He instantly knew this was real life because in his dreams, he was always able to see. 'Dammit' he thought 'I must have fallen asleep' he shook his head and looked down towards the pillow he had been cuddling. "Sorry" he said "I didn't get much sleep last night" his words were a bit slurred but understandable. "Ah well that's okay~ I feel bad for waking you up now" Francis replied with a sort of guilty smile. "don't feel bad" Arthur said, his stomach growling at the end of his sentence. The Frenchman chuckled before saying "I prepared food for you"
"Mm..." Arthur set his pillow down next to him and stood up wearily. Francis took hold of his hand and led him to the kitchen. Arthur blushed at the action. 'why do I always feel so... strange when he touches me...?' Arthur thought to himself as he was sat down at a table. His dull eyes stared down at his lap for a moment trying to comprehend what this feeling was. He had never felt like this around anyone before. No one had ever made him feel so warm and happy inside. A faint smile spread across his lips. When he was around Francis, he didn't feel so... Alone. He was snapped out of his thoughts by the sound of a plate clinking against the table. He averted his gaze from his lap and towards the plate before him. Francis took a seat across from the him. Arthur placed his hand on the table and felt around a moment for the fork. His heart was beating fast. He had this feeling he was going to do something that would embarrass him, like knock the plate off the table or accidentally put his hand in the food. Those things happened to him frequently but for some reason now it really seemed to matter. He didn't want to make a fool of himself in front of Francis. To him It didn't matter when he was around anyone else it was just with him. Arthur's fingers found the feeling of a thin cold metal rod. He sighed inwardly. 'Thank god I didn't mess that up' he thought. He lifted the fork and placed it on the plate. "So um... What did you make?" Arthur said breaking the silence between them. Whenever there was a silence it was never awkward. Arthur loved the silences, honestly. He trusted Francis. He knew he was there and even when it was completely quiet. He loved knowing he was there. He loved that they could just enjoy the presence of the other. "I made crêpes" he said. His voice was so sweet and you tell from his tone that he was smiling. Arthur loved hearing him talk. He would never admit it though. Why? He didn't know why. He just felt like it was wrong to think that. He couldn't possibly... Love this man could he? No. Yes? He didn't know. He practically just met him. They knew almost nothing about each other but still... It felt like they knew everything. Well to Arthur it felt that way. He wasn't sure what Francis thought of him. He hoped he felt the same. He hoped he wasn't just hanging around him out of pity. He truly liked Francis and it would shatter his heart knowing he didn't think of him the same way he did. Arthur finally figured out what he was feeling. It was love. But he will not admit it. Ever. 'Love only ends in tragedy' he thought as he moved carefully moved his fort to cut off some a piece of the crêpes. "Would you like some help?"
"Oh... Um... No thanks. I think I might have-" screech. Both of the men flinched at the sound of the fork scraping the plate. "...Yeah okay, I would love some help" Arthur's cheeks quickly became pink with embarrassment. Francis just chuckled. A few faint sounds could be heard as the crêpes were being cut into smaller pieces. Arthur almost thought he heard Francis whisper "cute..." No. He wouldn't have. He was probably just hearing things. "there you go, mon lapin"
"Thank you..." Arthur, who had remained holding his fork, impaled one of the small pieces and put it in his mouth. There was a pause. "This... This is amazing..." He said
"you really think so?"
"Yes!" Arthur ate a few more pieces "you cook amazingly" Francis blushed faintly. "Merci" Arthur smiled at him, his hazy eyes stared off into infinity. Francis smiled back, though he knew Arthur wouldn't notice. This was the start a beautiful relationship, and they both knew in time they would move to being more than just friends.
