Everything was silent. Not one noise could be heard. No laughter, no gossip, no animals, no machine could be heard. The village was empty, barren in fact. All shops were closed, children weren't seen, womens weren't gossiping and mens

Weren't working on farms. Winds swept through the village, past closed off houses and untended farms.

But it wasn't too long before the scream of distress broke the unnatural silence. However the silent image stayed unaffected.

" Help please help, I beg you please. I don't want to die, I promise I'll do anything. Mum tell dad he can't do this" the scream for help eventually turned to sobs.

FAR AWAY

Far deep in the unruly cluster of trees, where silence was a weapon, dark figure lurked in the bushes. It camouflaged into the surroundings. Taking care of every step so it is not seen.

The beast was limping as well as bleeding. A cut run through the front leg, about 25cm, where the luscious night shade fur was replaced by it. It's eyes were green crystals full of concentration and determinations. Even though it was limping in pain, it's posture didn't show it at all. It let out a roar and you could see the long tusk like fangs coming out of it's mouth. It looked like it was born to rule.

The beast stopped and sniffed the air and tasted every flavour of that air. It was tracking something, something important. A sudden jolt ran through him and he stiffened. He could smell the something ahead.

He relaxed, a little. Knowing that it was no time to relax, he paced towards the unknown location dodging few branching here and there. He was on a treasure hunt and the game was on

It ran with the wind as if they were friends. The sensation was great, his heart was beating faster, pumping the adrenaline filled blood around his is body.

It didn't take long to seek out it's prize. The prize out self laid there like a mouse in a trap.

The beast wanted to launch it self at it. It was hungry. But the beast wasn't stupid. It knew that one wrong step could stop his hunger forever. It moved among the Shadow, hiding. It approached the hunt and everything else happened in the blink of an eye and cannot be described.

But one thing for sure at that very moment the noise of distress was gone and never to be heard again.

VILLAGE

Danger was gone, danger was over, as if it was never there. But marked Iserth another loss. Funeral was held that very day to remember their loss which cannot be compensated.

Silence was the main feature of the village, it was always there, Iserth was it's home. Each time silence took a different form, from deadly to normal silence or the one when remembering dead the ones.

Villagers hanged their head and resumed to their work after paying their tribute to their hero. While the mother struggled in pain and was supported by womens. She looked at her husband with distrust, who was getting on with life like nothing had happened.

The mother couldn't believe that her gem, her Sophie was truly gone forever, sacrificed and that it was her father's fault. She believed that if anyone had to die it should have been Sophie's father. Sophie was too beautiful, too lovely and too young to die

Sophie wasn't the only one who was sacrificed from the village, there were many more. And there are many that are yet to be sacrificed.
