I sat down in my seat next to my best friend, Josh. The teacher was lecturing me about being late. I ignored him like every other day.
“Okay! Now that everyone is here, I can talk about the trip we are going to take!” Mr. Parr, the teacher said happily.
“Oh! A trip!” “Is it going to be all day?” “Do we need to bring a lunch?” “Are there going to be any classes?” “Where are we going?” Everyone started to ask a bunch a questions and it was making Mr. Parr mad.
“IF ALL OF YA’LL WON’T SHUT UP! I’D LIKE TO FINISH WHAT I WAS SAYING!!!!” I think that was the loudest that Mr. Parr had ever yelled at us. “We are going to the woods, and I know that it’s restricted but some people are going to lead us around so we won’t get lost and what not.”
Random person: “Why are we going to the woods?”
“You know what happened there and we are going to check it out and write an essay on your own interpretation on what happened.”
No. No one knows what happened. No one would say what had happened. No one likes essays. No one knows what to write based on a walk in the woods. No one likes the assignments this teacher gives out.
“We are going Friday!”
“This Friday, like tomorrow?” I asked
“YES!” Well, dang! He didn’t have to yell at me! Normal teachers give a few days notice before a trip.
Random person: “What happened at the woods?”
“If you don’t know by now you are just stupid! You will know tomorrow! The essay is due Monday, the Monday that comes after tomorrow.”
Everyone groaned. No one likes weekend homework! Unlike Mr. Parr, I have a life! And so does everyone else!
~Time Fast Forwarded to End of School~
“I heard about your trip.” Said Gaby as we were waiting for Stanley. “I think you shouldn’t go.”
“Why not?”
“Don’t you remember what happened to me one month ago?!”
~Flashback starts~
One month ago... (Flashback interrupted)
“I know what happened! It was just your imagination. You got scared because you lost and you probably started to see things. Stuff like that happens to you when you’re scared.”
“NO!!!” Gaby yelled, she started to plead, “Please don’t go!! What if that person takes you?!”
“No one is going to take me! I know how to take care of myself and I’m going to be with the whole grade and the guards and with the teacher. I’m sure no one will be left behind or taken.”
“I still think you shouldn’t go.” Gaby mumbled under her breath
We saw Stanley walking out towards us eager to go home.
