Chapter 1

I'm grounded for a week. What did I do? I asked my dad if he would like a bowl of cereal and he freaked. What? I didn't know that a fully grown man could be so fragile.

Anyways here I am in my room staring at my brown walls. I've always wanted to paint them with maybe some blues and greens but I can't, my dad hates blue. By the way I'm 13 now, entering grade eight in a week at Hiddenpark middle school.

It doesn't really matter to me that I'm grounded. At least it means less time with Drunko-Pshyco, which I'll take as a gift. Now I understand why my mom left him.

I gently lay my head in my lap and try to get even just a wisp of sleep. My long golden hair plummets down around me, acting like a curtain that seperates me from the real world. But instead of drifting off into a peaceful sleep, my mind gets filled with thoughts from the past. Why didn't you just let your dad die in that almost car collision? You could have just jumped out and saved yourself. I realized something. I saved my dad. Why? I don't know but I did. That thought scares me enough that I force myself to sleep.

First day of grade eight. I didn't make any new friends and, oh yeah, I got expelled at lunch time. Oops. What was I supposed to do? This grade 7 kid called my a shorty because I'm only 5 foot 4 and he was 5 foot 8. So I did what I had to. With my hand secured on his chest I pushed him into a wall. He cracked it and yelped in pain. Oopsy daisies. Well I guess that school isn't right for me. You know, it's hard to act like a weak little girl when I'm the strongest person in the world.

When I arrived home I decided to test my strength at the park. I pulled 6 trees out of the ground and demolished the slide. I guess my work here is done. But as I walked back home, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a man. He was wearing blue clothing and had sun glasses on. On his chest was a badge. I couldn't read it but I knew it was a badge. And yes, I did see this all out of the corner of my eye.

As I travelled by foot to my destination(my house) I could feel him following me. When I finally arrived at home I ran upstairs not knowing what the man was going to do. Slowly, I walked towards my window opened the curtains and peered outside.

A breath of relief escaped from my body as I realized that he wasn't right outside my window. I was just walking downstairs when-

"Ding dong", the doorbell rang. My dad jumped up from his seat in front of the old TV and opened the door. And there, standing in front of my dad was the man in blue.

"Aaaahhhhhh", I screamed but suddenly more and more of the men came to the door.

"We know what you can do", one man said.

"Your strong, but are you strong enough?" Said another.

"Strong enough for what?" I asked, hoping that they were kidding about the whole thing. But right after I said that they grabbed and shocked me and the only thing I saw after that was darkness.
