Emma had not seen Killian in exactly one week. An entire week. She missed him so much. She thought about him constantly, and was still confused about the True Love's Kiss thing. She had been trying to spend time with August, to see if she thought she could love him, but she just couldn't. She loved Killian with all of her heart. And, Killian had been avoiding her. She didn't blame him, though. Not at all. She just missed him. She always felt like she wasn't her full self when she was without him. Emma decided she couldn't go another second without being with him, so she walked to the docks. She found him working on his ship. It looked like he was preparing the ship for something. "Killian." She called out, softly as she boarded the ship. "What are you doing?" She asked. He froze when he heard her voice and turned around slowly. "Emma. You shouldn't be here." He said, quietly. Emma tried, and failed to not let that statement hurt her. "I needed to see you, Killian. This past week has been torture, not being with you." He avoided her eyes. "You should be with August." The pain in his voice broke her heart. She stepped towards him. "Killian, I don't love August. I love you." His eyes widened. "No Emma, August is your true love. You shouldn't be here. You need to leave." He couldn't stand hearing her tell him that she loved him, not when he could never have her, when she would never truly love him. She stepped closer to him. "Killian, tell me the truth do you really want me to leave?" Killian let out a deep sigh. "You know I don't, Emma." Emma stepped even closer. "Now tell me the truth again. Do you love me?" There was a pause before Killian said, "I love you with all of my heart. Which is why you have to be with him. He will make you happy, and your happiness is one of the most important things in the world to me. That and your safety. So, you need to be with... with August." He turned away from her, but Emma grabbed his arm and turned him back around. "Killian you're not leaving, are you?" She had been destructed earlier, but now she noticed that his ship looked prepared to sail. "Aye. There is nothing for me here." He said, painfully. Her eyes widened and they welled up with tears. She wrapped her arms around him in a hug and began sobbing into his shoulder. "Killian, you can't leave. You can't. I need you here. I love you." Killian hesitantly wrapped his arms around her. "I'm sorry, Emma. You will be happy here with him. And, while your happiness is extremely important to me, I couldn't stand to stay here and watch you be happy with him, when I love you so much." He said. Emma pulled back to look him in the eyes. "August kissed me." Emma said and Killian winced, the hurt visible in his face, his arms around her tightening. "I'm telling you this for a reason, let me finish. He kissed me, but I broke the kiss right after it began. It felt wrong. Whenever I kiss you, I get this feeling, like a million fireworks are exploding inside of me and I feel love, so much love. I feel it pulsing through my veins. It's like fire, but a good kind of fire. It makes me light up inside. It makes me happy. With him, I felt nothing. It just felt wrong. This, us, Killian, feels right." She kissed him, and he kissed her back, but only for a moment, before stepping back, saying, "No, we can't do this, Emma. He's your true love. You will love him, eventually. I have to get ready to leave." He turned away from her and began preparing his ship, his eyes filled with tears. Emma began to cry, herself, mumbling. "It's just not possible. August can't be my true love. There's no way he could have woken me up with True Love's Kiss... Unless it wasn't True Love's Kiss. That's it!" She ran up to Killian. "Killian, when are you planning on leaving?" "Tonight." He replied, not looking her in the eyes, knowing it would be too painful. "No. Promise me you won't leave tonight. At least wait until the morning. Please, Killian." He finally looked her in the eyes and saw the desperate look in them. "Fine, Swan. I don't know why, but if it's that important to you, I'll leave tomorrow morning." Emma sighed in relief. "Thank you, so much. You won't regret it, I promise." She kissed him quickly on the cheek, before running off the ship as fast as her legs could carry her. She ran all of the way to the pawnshop, bursting inside, calling out, "Gold, where are you? I'm here to make a deal."
