She knew it was the one as soon as she saw it. She didn't care how but she knew she was going to have it. It's curvatious shape catches the light perfectly, every edge, every curve, highlited by the silver shimmer raining from above.
She is lost, the perfection steals her away. Clearly the connection is too strong; it's love at first sight which is suddenly struck short "Jaquie! Hey Jaq we need to leave." Her father's rustic demanding voice pulls her away...but barely.
The girl is mesmerised, Peter knows it will have to take more than calling her name to deliver her, but he's fed up of the same routine. Having to shake...no, wake her up from this spell. Finally she's back.

As they walk out of the store Peter invades his daughters thoughts. "Why do you do this every time? Why stare at it love it's from heaven?" He spits out a sigh. "Uh dad if I can't play it or have it what else am I to do? Those 5 minutes with Melody are what make my day." I huffs "please let me have her" my whiney voice projects from my full lips as I tip toes to take a sit in the ml 320 mercedes four wheeler which is clearly high for my five foot stature."Melody? Oh honey don't tell me you've already named it! Jaquie what if someone buys it? What will you do? Look forget about the name please. In fact the guitar; before you really get attached to it. Besides, you already have one at home." Peter burgains as he turns the key bringing the car to life.

I don't understand why he can't just let me have it. What I have at home, eli is so different from melody. It couldn't be any obvious than the fact that eli is an electric guitar and Melody is acoustic.

I mean I've never been this drawn to something in all my seventeen years of life except for the time my dad came home with a 1950s buick roadmaster  with a highly improved six cylinder engine and chrome taflins. The only problem back then is that I couldn't really adorn and fan girl over it so much because I wasn't close to being sixteen anytime soon meaning my chances of driving it were slime to none and the new owner was to claim it the coming morning. I remember my dad called me a bush baby for two weeks straight because of how big my eyes grew when I first saw the car.

If he understood the reaction to the car why can't he just understand the reaction to this guitar and how much I need it.
I roll my eyes at his lack of consideration and look out the window.

The drive home is quite short and as we enter the house I remember that we, well he forgot to get food. "Hey pop, I don't feel like cooking, can we get Chinese." I ask and watch him grab the phone to dial mister wok's to order.

Walking up to my room I decide to shower as I wait for the food to get here. Discarding of my clothes into the hamper I play some music and disappear into the bathroom. Minutes later as the steaming water is rushing down my body riding it of luthered soap I hear the door bell ring. That must be the food, turning off the water I hear my dad's voice call "Jaq c'mon down food's here" and surely enough he confirms my thoughts.
W

e scoff down the take out and my dad barely says a word. Something is up. However I ignore it for now as am tured and need some shut eye.

Aggressive knocking at my door causes me to jolt out of bed "Jaquie you're gonna be late" I look at my alarm clock and fuck it's 8:10. How did this happen. "Am up. I'm awake." I yell back through the door. Well thank God I showered before bed last night.  Scrambling around my room trying to gather what I need for the day I realise I need an out fit that isn't the oversized shirt I just woke up in. I grab black shorts and loosely fitted gray sheer top to drape over my black bra. Finishing off with navy strap sandals for colour.

Racing down stairs I can't seem to find my dad. I get to the kitchen and grab a drink from the fridge and head outside, opening the car door he patiently waits as I awkwardly take my place on the passenger seat. "Hungry?" He asks as he gestures to the Small box of cookies in his hand. Smiling at him I take the box and open place it in my bag.
