Darkness covered the harbor as the man stood waiting, watching the thin slice of moon that just about let him see his way around. The man looked at his watch both impatient and nervous, 12:01. Taking a deep breath he opened the bag to check if the ball was still in there, yes it was, just like he saw it in is garden: cylinder, gray, patterned with hexagon's. Finnaly he saw the detective, his black boots squelching in the rain.
"May I see the 'big discovery' please."
The man went red, remembering his frantic call to the police. He handed it over to the detective.
"Humm, weirdly shaped, weird pattern, shaped like a ball..." Suddenly he started laughing and threw it back to the owner.
"Its just a ball or a trick, nothing special. Honestly to think your a scientist!" He chuckled
The professor caught it with a jump and again went red, this time with anger, he pushed his small glasses to the bridge of his nose "This may be a major discovery! And dont mind me saying but I can never imagen any child playing with this toy!"
The decteive leaned closer to the professor, who smelt a wiff of alchol. Then suddenly the drunken detective grabbed the ball.
"Maby should we all forget about this silly incident shall we?"
And with that he threw the sphere into the sea, then went off laughing. Leaving the shocked professor behind. Both of them leaving the strange purple smoke and bubbles coming from when he threw the ball into the sea...
