Oath of a Time Traveler

474 25 2

The pure clock strikes the first hour

Before my chosen promises,

Before my journey back through time.

A flash of pink nestles my cheek,

Rosy face and a bright smile.

Then it all fades to dust and ash

Once the night of Destruction comes.

The beautiful rose petals fall.

The white clock strikes hour number two

As I enter the maze for you.

Important promises unchecked

When the violet arrow is turned.

A full yet dark moonlight passes,

And the night of Destruction came.

The beautiful rose petals fall.

Third hour comes in grey horror,

Blanketed disbelief and rage.

Fallen angels number three,

Yellow ribbons tied far too tight.

Down goes Blue, and Crimson, and Gold,

Leaving Pink and Purple for War.

But the night of Destruction comes.

Fearing a monster emerging,

I survived with fated promise,

Sweet Pink splashed into red and black,

And the rose petals fall once more.

When the dark fourth hour arrives,

I am hardened by time and time.

Still the petals fall endlessly.

Blackened long months of sorrow passed

Twenty-eight for my beloved.

Now a soldier locked in combat,

Time bends and flows with a contract.

The contract would poison her blood,

So I signed my name and life over.

For her. For my beloved Pink.

The rose petals are caught this time;

Pink transforms into Morganite

And shines as bright as Apollo.

Yet I cannot reach or grasp her,

For Kronos and Zeus decreed it.

How could Time's unlucky child ever

Touch the only star in the sky?

In this new world she created,

The large War still rages in secret.

But I will protect it for her,

Because this was once her world too.
