Galactic measures: Rick Hunter x OC [RoboTech]

A warm night's sleep

Rick shows the woman to the bedroom, after eating a delicious Chinese meal. He grabbed some blankets and a pillow from the bed. "So, are you ever gonna tell me your name?" he asked, setting up his small sleeping space on the floor. "Anya. It's Anya." she said, sitting on the bed, and slipping off her boots. "Why are you sleeping on the ground?" she asked, getting into bed. "Oh, it's okay, you can have the bed." he smiled. She groaned. "Get in here you dummy." she huffed, patting the space next to her. He stood up with his pillow,  confused. "Are you sure, i mean..." "Get over here you dork." she huffed. He sighed and laid down, adjusting himself in bed. "Just, make sure to let me know if your'e uncomfortable." he said. She blushed at that, it was kinda cute to see someone so caring and understanding, her gem flashing faster. "What's that doing?" he asked pointing to it. She went red and hid it with the blankets. "N-Nothing!" She squeaked. He shrugged and closed his eyes. The gem showed her heart beat, which made her confused as to why it was beating so fast. It slowed and dimmed as she drifted to sleep. 

Later that night she awoke, cold and shivering. "Damn, how'd it get cold so fast...?" she whispered to herself. She looked to the sleeping Rick. She gently put her hand on his chest and pulled back quickly.  "How is he so warm?!" she gasped. Shyly, she squirmed her way closer to him, ever so gently wrapping her arms around him, and delicately placing her head on his warm chest. She smiled and started closing her eyes, until his breathing hitched, and he sat up, "Anya?!" Her gem gradually blinked faster and faster. "I'm sorry, I...I was cold and you were warm and i...!" He sighed and ran a hand through his hair, "It's okay, you just startled me that's all." he chuckled, laying back down, wrapping his arms around her, "if you were cold you could have just said so," he said snuggling up against her.  "I...Didn't want to wake you..." she said feeling all embarrassed and mad at herself. "Well atleast now we both can be cozy and warm." he said with a smile. Damn that adorable smile of his! She couldn't sleep at all, her gem just blinking madly.  "Hey, do you think you could turn that off? I can sleep with that thing blinking in my eyes." he groaned. She felt a little insulted, but sighed, knowing he wouldn't have known better. "It's my heart monitor." she growled. "Oh, i'm sorry..." he then realized how fast it was blinking and put the two together. "Are you nervous? Your heart seems to be beating pretty fast according to your heart-light." he said poking her gem. "I, uh...yeah. I guess i am a little nervous..." she sighed, the blinking slowing down a bit. "No need to be nervous. Just go to sleep, no one's gonna find you, as long as i'm here." he smiled snuggling closer. That's not really what she meant, but it was cute all the same.  

She slept great that night.
