New Years Eve
I sat in my living and watched music videos on MTV raps, "Creep" by TLC was on. A promoter hosting the New Years Bash, asked did I want to perform, I took the offer since I didn't have anything better to do. I heard a knock at the front, I knew it was Raina and Keisha 'cause we were all going together.
I opened the door and they both barged in. Keisha came in being silly as usual dancing to the music.
"Left eye getting that shit, with her crazy ass" she laughed "We should've went to ATL again, my boo Usher is there"
"He's gonna be guest starring on the show soon, from what I heard" I said
"For real! Is he my boo?"
"No stupid" I laughed
Raina grabbed my hand, glancing at my ring"umm, I couldn't help but notice this rock on ya finger, that has to be at least 5 karats"
"No sweetie, 8" I chuckled
"Okay! Where you get it from, your boo Dario"
"Yep"
"Somebody must be givin up a lot of bootay"- Keisha slapped my butt "He buyin you diamonds now"
"I wish Brian would buy me diamonds" Raina pouted.
"It's official with yall now?"
"No but I wish"
"Y'all wanna know a secret?" I asked
"What is it"
"Ya girl gettin married"
Keisha gasp "Oh my God forreal!"
"When did he purpose?!" Raina asked
"On Christmas Eve, y'all don't understand how much I love this man."
"So you really bouta marry him, when's the date"
"We don't know yet, but it will be after I turn 18 this year"
"Well congratulations boo" Keisha hugged me.
The phone rung and I broke out of the hug to answer it.
"Hello?"
"Hey baby girl"
"Is this you Dar?"
"No I'm not that nigga, it's L.T. baby"
I rolled my eyes as I sucked my teeth and gave him a dual "Hey"
"What's wrong?"
"Nothin', what's up?"
"You wanna chill with me tonight?"
"Can't, gotta perform tonight for the New Years Bash"
"Where that's at?"
"The Avalon, you can come I'll hook you up with a ticket"
"Can I get about 3, I got my brother and a friend"
"I'll see what I can do"
"What you doin' little girl"
"Nothin much, about to get ready to go this sound check, what you doin?"
"Studying for a test"
"It's new years you shouldn't have homework"
"Gotta be ahead of the class baby, what time you leavin' out"
"I'm leaving out early, the Avalon doesn't open the doors until 9. I'll have a body guard wait outside of the back of the building to give you the tickets"
