(EDITED)
I'm not sure what made the witches agree to help us, it could've been my sob story, but it seemed like it was something else entirely. They kept staring at Sarah and they looked more than terrified when they met her eyes. It reminded me of what Adrian had to say about Sarah the other day.But it makes no sense to me, why do witches fear Sarah? She's just a sweet mixed girl with beautiful brown eyes, a bright gorgeous smile, and an empathetic attitude. She can be quite sassy but none of those qualities are considerably scary.
Unless the witches are scared they will fall in love with Sarah, I have no idea why in hell they were acting that way. That wasn't the only thing I saw go down. Gregg and Jake saw their mate turn into a vampire, now don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with vampires. It's just highly frowned upon to become a vampire when you're already a part of the werewolf community.
It's considered murder in our society. Vampirism becomes a cancer inside your body, it kills everything, including the wolf inside of you. After you're bitten you can never get your wolf back, it's gone forever. When you murder the wolf that was a piece of you, the wolf doesn't die slowly, the wolf inside you tries to fight for its survival, and it tries to tear you apart, it rips through your skin and it tries to escape. But the venom is intoxicating it and makes it weak until it dies. If you have a soulmate, they will feel it too. It's a gruesome process, sometimes the werewolf doesn't even survive it, and I hate that my favorite warriors had to witness someone they could've loved go through such an agonizing transformation.
Although you would have to be sick to reject someone like Gregg and Jake, I'm honestly glad that she did. If she didn't reject them they would have had to deal with all of that pain as well. But I still think what she did was the most stupid and pathetic thing I have ever seen in my entire life. Give the woman a medal.
I'm not stupid and neither is anyone from my pack, the woman said she didn't want a mate and she won't have two. It was killing her inside that she rejected them and if you want to remove those feelings about her mate, the best chance is to kill the wolf inside of you.
What she doesn't understand is that all killing her wolf would do, is remove the feelings her wolf had, not her own. The fact that she couldn't live with her wolf aching for those two, is proof enough that she wanted them. The thing is that no matter what, they will never want her anymore.
After everything that she made them go through, they will hate her and she will be forced to live her entire existence knowing that those two men, the only ones who would've been able to make her truly happy, hate her. She ruined the only relationship that would've worked for her. They're still soul mates, even if the bond is gone and the sparks don't fly. But they are the only compatible match for her.
No other relationship will work and because of what she did they won't ever be able to be together, ever.
It just won't work now, because werewolves age. Most of the werewolves in my pack aged very slowly. I'm like two thousand something years old, and I still look like I'm at least, twenty-eight, but I still age. Just like everyone else.Vampires stop aging. They can't grow or go through changes. When Gregg and Jake begin to appear older, their mate will look the same age as when they first met. When they begin to get wrinkly and when they eventually die, she will be left alone forever.
Adrian is driving us back to the pack house and I don't have anything left to do, but silently think about the terrors, both of my most trusted men, have been obligated to live through. The twins seem to be trying their hardest to look unaffected by the stupidity of their mate, but they're failing miserably. Their faces are crestfallen and their shoulders are slumped over, they look worn out. But they still look put together and ready to do their job.
I couldn't even begin to imagine how l would behave, after killing the bastard who turned her, if Sarah were to do that to me.
When we finally get to my house, Gregg and Jake sprint out of the car and go straight inside the house. I don't blame them, Sarah and I don't even waste another second inside of the car. It was filled with an anxious tension that just made me want to break something.
Adrian follows me and Sarah inside and I sigh when I feel the homey atmosphere. He turns towards me and offers me a shaky smile.
"You're lucky I'm your friend Adonis or I wouldn't have spent so much time with Mrs-I'm-So-Powerful over there." He says, his voice sounding almost as shaky as his smile. He looks exhausted, he has dark circles around his eyes that weren't there the first time we got inside the car.
"Times are going to be tough from now on Adonis. Can you handle it?"
"Yes, Adrian I can handle it, I'm an alpha, I can handle anything it's a part of my job. If you ever need my help just pick up the phone. As of right now, I'm indebted to you."
"No, Adonis, you're not in debt to me or anyone right now. You call me when you need help, and I'll help you that's what friends do, alright?"
"I've already asked you to drive halfway across the county to speak to the council for my pack instead of a coven, I can't ask you for anything more."
He put a hand on my shoulder, "But you will." He says confidently and he walks to the door with a small smirk.
"I'll see you later." Then he leaves without looking back at me. Questions about what he meant, swirl around my head like a tornado and I'm left dizzy with confusion.
Sarah walks up close to me and intertwines her hand with my own, she takes me into the living room, pushes me down onto the sofa, and I drag her down onto my lap with a chuckle. She giggles softly as I nestle my head onto her shoulder like a child and I finally just get to be with my girl. After spending some time trapped with other people in a car, it feels good to just lie down and get comfortable with the woman you love completely.
"Can we watch a movie? Sarah asks excitedly and I nod my head on her shoulder. When she tries to get up and I don't move my arm she keeps trying and trying to go put a movie on.
"Can you move your arm?" The slightly annoyed slightly amused sound of her voice made me smile.
"Can you put a movie on without moving, I'm comfortable."
She looks at me and then giggles with raised eyebrows. Groaning, I let Sarah get up, and I continue to moan and groan until the movie starts and she gets her cute little ass where it's supposed to be, cuddling up next to me.
"I have no idea why people think you're so scary, you're so adorable." Sarah says, and I gasp in fake outrage.
When the movie starts to come on, Sarah and I relax for once, without a worry in our minds.
