Looking Back

Yukiatsu looked at the white wig he kept in his drawer. It reminded him of Menma... However‚ she was gone now. That unforgettable Summer‚ they‚ the Super Peace Busters‚ had granted late Honma Meiko's wish and helped her attain heaven with a rather 'flashy' farewell... Now‚ one year later‚ he was looking back at all those events with Nostalgia...

Menma wouldn't come back. It was a painful truth that even Yukiatsu had to accept... He was sad‚ disheartened but somewhere‚ he felt calm and peaceful.
He had to stop looking back and start moving forward. It was now or never. He had to move on from that Tragic past that binded him tightly and properly look at the bright future that patiently waited by his side all those years.

Yukiatsu lifted the wig and held it close to his chest and drew in a breath. He could remember that day as if it was yesterday.

I love how strong and hardworking you are

The boy smiled sadly at these words. They held so much emotions that they seemed like they could break at any moment. Then again‚ Menma at last going to heaven wasn't the only thing that had happened that day.

I'll never dream about things that I know won't come true

Anaru‚ Jintan‚ Poppo‚ Tsuruko‚ Yukiatsu; They had all confessed their bottled-up feelings on the spurt of the moment‚ feeling guilty for everything.
Tsuruko... Her strong facade had cracked. Badly. She cried all those unshed tears that she kept in for years. She said out loud the feelings she tried to forget about.

Had anything changed?

The Super Peace Busters were now closer than before. Except that an irreplaceble member was forever gone... Menma was a memory that would continue to live in their hearts. They would never ever forget her. Nor whatever they had done. Still‚ she forgave them; their 'sins' that cost a life dearly.

Their Trauma; Their Friend; Their Goal; Their Summer.
