The Broken Road

Chapter 1

"Ellie! Wake up!" 

Not now... I don't want to wake up just yet.

"We have school dumb ass get up!"

"Okay fine Jacob! Give me a second!"

I finally decided to wake up. I honestly regret getting up, because I know how the first day of school is. I'm finally starting my sophomore year. New atmosphere. New students. New year. I hope I get the chance to just start over. I still remember those mistakes I made, and they still haunt me.

I wonder... Would he be disappointed in me, or would he be proud of me? I hope he's proud of me. I miss him. I still remember the first night we met. We went to some dumb high school dance when I was still a freshman and in school. February, 2015. That's when he first sent me that message.

"Hey why are people bullying you?"

I wonder to this day how we ended up together 2 or 3 days later, over that simple message. I wasn't really that interested at first. I didn't want to end up with him, because now, I'm empty. I feel like every part of me got ripped out when he disappeared... I wish me and him would of kept running. I wish I could rewind time, and fix that night. I shouldn't of kept egging him on, but I did. I regret everything I said. I wish I could of done more than kiss him and say "I love you" before he permanently left... I don't even know where he is anymore...

"Hey, are you okay El? You seem pretty down. I can tell by looking."

"Y-Yeah I'm fine."

"It's... Him... Isn't it?"

I nodded. My brother can tell when he's on my mind. Dammit...

"I'm sure he's fine. He probably still loves you and misses you. You two were pretty good together and you stuck it out for almost 5 months. I know it's hard, but you guys will get through it. It should make you guys stronger. I honestly hope you two get back together. Honestly El, he made you the happiest I've ever saw."

Oh Jake... If only you knew. You know how much I love him. 

"Yeah... Haha."
