Aqua Melody

Chapter 1

Chapter 1:

I just float there, soaking away my worries and troubles as i enter a peaceful state of mind. I blink open my eyes to the bright sun. I slowly move upright in the the clear aqua water. I swim towards shore and sit on the powdery white sand as i watch the view in front of me. I sit there until the sun sets. The sky is filled with soft colors of pink, purple and yellow. The shades cast down onto the ocean, making the view breathtaking. The colors get darker as the sun disappears completely. I stood up and walk towards the beach house. It was my last day here. I was only here for the summer, but i felt like i was here forever. I head to my room and took a shower. An empty suitcase sat on my bed. I sighed as i hesitantly start packing all my clothes except for what I'm wearing tomorrow.

I finally finished packing all my stuff. I lay down on my bed in relief. I am so tired! I felt my eyes droop as i slowly gave in to-

"Saphire!!" I hear my mom shout. I open my eyes and groaned.

"What?!" I shouted, now irritated.

"Time for dinner!"

"I'm coming!" I ran down the stairs and almost bumped into my older brother, Kyle.

"Watch it little sis!" He said.

"I'm not your only little sis you know." I said, shoving past him.

"Actually, you are my only little sis. The other one is my baby sis." He said.

"Smartass," I thought. Ruby sat there with her legs swinging. She must have heard me, for she turned around and gave me a wide smile.

"Happy birthday, Saphie!"She said.

"Thanks, Ruby," I said ruffling her hair.

"Happy birthday, little sis," Kyle said, doing the same thing to me. I fixed my hair and shot an annoyed look at him. He just smirked. I rolled my eyes and looked at the table holding spaghetti, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and an ice cream cake saying, "Happy 16th Birthday Saphire!" I smiled, then I frowned. Dad isn't here. I suddenly got angry. Why did he have to leave?! I shook my head. Today is my sixteenth birthday! I should be happy.

"--Happy birthdaay, dear Saphire, Happy birthday to yoouu!!" My mom, brother, and sister finished. I blew the candles out as a light flashed. I looked up to see my mom with a camera. She smiled proudly at me. I smiled back.

"You all packed sis?" Kyle asked puting an arm around my shoulders.

"Yup. I'm gonna miss this place," I said looking around.

"Why?"

"You know I love the beach- it helps me forget everything that's happened the past few months," I said truthfully. He nodded, fully understanding.

"I know Fire. It's gonna be alright," he said giving me a one armed hug. I hugged him back. "Thanks, bro," I said, smiling

Bring! Bring! My alarm clock rang in my ears. I slowly sat up. Ugh! School. I hate school. I put on my glasses, and get out of bed. I head to my closet, looking for something to wear. I chose a flowing green floral top with a pair of jean shorts that stop mid-thigh. I bring my long hair to the side, and left it in a side braid. I walk to my brother's room to wake him up, and i saw him half naked.

"Hey bro," I greeted him as i sat on his bed.

"Um, hey? Can u get out?" He asked.

"Why?" I asked innocently.

"'Cause I'm changing?" He said like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"Are you embarrassed to change in front of your little sis?" I teased him. He sighs and just continues to take off his sweatpants.
