Chapter Eighteen
Nate's POV
"Good morning, Mr. Manning," I whispered into the ear of my God-like boyfriend. He groaned before letting a smirk cross his face. He opened one eye and then closed it.
"Shh. Too early. Go back to sleep," he mumbled, still smirking. He tried to pull me back into bed. I swatted his arm away.
"No. We have reservations to go to, Kelsey," I sternly stated. "We have a twelve o'clock appointment with Reverend Dames, a two o'clock appointment with Ms. Carmichael, and a five o'clock appointment with Sheldon for our tux fitting. So get your ass up."
He groaned again before stretching and sitting up in the bed.
"I love when you get all forceful, soon-to-be Mr. Manning," he laughed.
"Oh hush. Now go take a shower," I hopped off the bed. "I made breakfast and its getting cold so shake a leg, hubby."
He yawned before walking his naked ass to the bathroom. I had to take a moment to wipe my face in case of drool. I couldn't believe how much our lives had change over the past few months.
Two months ago, Kelsey and I had visited his parents in England where he proposed to me on our last night there. It wasn't extra romantic or anything.
We had just spent the evening enjoying the attractions at the Winter Wonderland event in Hyde Park. Our final ride of the night was of course on the Ferris wheel. We were about two seats away from the top, overlooking all of Hyde Park when he turned to me and popped the question. I was shocked but I also expected it.
Two weeks prior I had found the engagement ring in a box in the closet. Ever since then I had been waiting for the moment when he would ask. I didn't think he'd pull a cliché move and ask me on the Ferris wheel. But he did. And of course I said yes. Who wouldn't?
Since then we've (meaning my mom, Adelaide, Kelsey's mom, and myself) dedicated our time to planning our upcoming nuptials. Kelsey has had as much input as he's wanted. He gave me freewill of the whole wedding and reception. It was frustrating doing everything without him but he had recently started a new side project, to which he wouldn't tell me about, so I understood that he was busy.
I felt two arms wrap around my waist as I sipped my caramel macchiato courtesy of Kelsey's fancy coffee machine.
His minty breath hit my nose before he planted a kiss on my cheek.
He hummed. "You look beautiful, amor."
I smiled at his endearment. "Thank you, hotshot. You look hot as per usual. Now eat so we can go. Reverend Dames will have a fit if we're late to our appointment."
My mom had suggested that we visit the reverend for marriage counseling before getting married. I didn't really mind and Adelaide also agreed that it would be a good thing. This was going to be our last appointment before our wedding the following Saturday. I was grateful for Reverend Dames but he tended to be long winded and I didn't want us to be late for our appointment with Laney Carmichael, our wedding coordinator.
By twelve o'clock we were already seated in Reverend Dames' office.
"Good afternoon, gentlemen," he began. "We're only five days away from the ceremony. How are you feeling?" He looked at us with smiling eyes and face.
"Great! Can't wait until we finally tie the knot," Kelsey smiled. I was probably a little bit more nervous than he was. I was afraid something would go completely wrong and ruin the happiest day of my life.
