*Several Years Later*
I woke up to the sound of my husband's voice.
"Charlie, sweetie wake up. It's time to wake up!"
I opened my eyes, seeing Chandler with a goofy smile on his face. I immediately smiled, unable to contain my happiness. He leaned down to kiss my forehead like he had done so many times over the years. The day of my father's funeral was the beginning of something beautiful; from that day on, we were inseparable. Chandler had been there for me when I needed him the most; he came into my life at the perfect time. For the first few weeks, our relationship mostly consisted of him helping me sort through the hurricane in my head. Until he came around, I always assumed I would never calm the storm. However, Chandler managed to put out the flames and step by step, brick by brick, he tore down the wall I had built around my heart. Chandler taught me the most important lesson I will ever learn: you have to destroy the very thing that destroys you. For so many years, I was letting my father control my life, even after he was dead; but Chandler saved me, and he handed back the controller of my life that I had lost so many years before.
Sometimes, you have to tell the truth, even if your voice shakes.
