Lilly's POV

Im Lilly, 17, in highschool, and of course, a nerd.

Im 5'6 in height, with long brown hair, dip-dyed in red. Classic, right?

Anyways, Im not special, I am just parentless, gaurdianless, and I have a 2 and a half year old Husky, named Devil.

Devil is my bestfriend, literally. I have no friends, well...maybe one. (Fake tear slides down my cheek.)

He's all black, with a dash of white on his face and chest, plus his two front paws are white also, and I have to say, it totally looks like he's wearing a tux, and its adorable.

I found Devil right after my parents died. He was a puppy then and I was an orphan. But, I think he found me, more then I found him. I remember it like it was yesterday.

I ran out of the police station, tears streaming down my face uncontrolably as I stumbled down the street. I turned the corner, being as the town I live in is small, I can just run to my home. I ran to the front porch of my tall, three-story house which was white. I stepped onto the first step only to hear a whine come from below it. Freezing in my place I looked down at the step, and out crawls a puppy. He wasnt that small, maybe a little under my knee.

He was cute, with his tongue rolling out of the side of his mouth, his head cocked to the side, ears back, and a soft whimper came out of his snout. I crouched down so I was eye level with him, staring into his bright blue gaze which looked full of love.

He leaned forward, sniffing tentively at my cheeks before licking them gently. A smile cracked onto my face as the tears subsided. Reaching my hand out, I scratched his jaw, running my fingers through his fur and then scratching behind his ears. He barked excitedly and leaned into my hand that stroked his cheek.

When I stood up and hesitantly stepped onto the porch, he followed. I opened the door to my house which was now ominously quiet. I was utterly alone, other than this dog.

I lied to the police and told them that my grandmother was coming to live with me now that my parents were dead. I knew it was wrong but seriously I am not helpless and I dont need my 75 year old grandma, shuffling around my house like a turtle. I closed the door and the husky scampered around, sniffing and gnawing at almost everything. I noticed his ribs were easy to see even through his thick coat of fur. I sighed and moped toward the kitchen. Tears sprung to my eyes as I remembered my mother always cooking in here.

Sighing, I pulled the fridge open and looked through it. Finally, I decided I would have chicken, and I would have to make it myself. As I fried it, the dog came into the room and sat down beside me, his tail wagging happily. I giggled as I saw he had on my fake red devil horns that I wore for Halloween when I was 10. He had somehow managed to fix them onto the top of his head, and strange enough, they looked real with his fur covering the headband part of it.

"A-are you a Devil" i asked him, sniffing. He barked nudging my hand. Then pointing the horns at me and then gazing into my eyes with his blue ones.

He's definitely a 'Devil'.

Now here we are, Im in my room, sitting on my king sized, plush bed. With Devil curled up at my stomach. He's like the largest stuffed animal I've ever seen, actually, he's the largest Husky I've ever seen. He reaches above my waist! And Im pretty tall if you think about it.

Pulling the covers off me and placing them gently on his back, I climbed out of my bed. My feet made a slapping sound on the hardwood floor as I walked towards the bathroom. Swinging the door open, I stepped in and glanced at myself in the mirror. It was slightly blurry but I could make myself out in it.
