Chapter 1:

Scarlett trudged through the thick, brambles of the large green bushes, keeping her eye on the snake. She pulled out her knife and slowly, and carefully crawled toward it. The snake shot its head up, sensing a presence. Scarlett tensed and tightened the grip on the warm handle of her pocketknife.

"Come on.. Just a little closer"

She pounced, landing with perfect aim on the snakes green body, as it writhed in pain at the impact of her body. Scarlett drove the knife into its head and blood splattered in every direction, showering her in a blood bath.

The girl grinned and hopped up- her prize dangling from her hands. She sprinted to the tall tree and climbed the wooden ladder to the tree house. Scarlett grabbed a bag of twigs and built up a small fire, munching contentedly on the snake.

Chapter 2:

It had been a year since the plane crashed into the uninhabited island and killed all except for Scarlett. She had not yet gotten over the sight of the lifeless bodies of her parents just sitting there, bloody and dismantled.

Her mind was like the birds in the trees above chittering to each other- blank, when she remembered the crash. But Scarlett had long since forgotten her life before the crash- after all, that was all she could remember.

Scarlett had lost all memory of everything before the plane wreck. Often times she would recall snippets of words and phrases or images of her old life- her once normal life.

Now she had nothing to do but find food every night and secure her home, waiting for the day that a plane would just fly over and spot her or her S.O.S signal laid out on the rocks.

Scarlett climbed down the tree and ran to the open stream she had discovered a while back. It was there that she took her shower. Slowly, she stripped off her only shirt, and slipped out of the worn jeans that had failed to stay in shape and were now torn. Scarlett had long since failed to figure out her age, but judging by how long she had been here, her best guess was 17.

She slinked into the cool water, and relaxed, letting the small laps of water run over her, cleaning her scars and cakes of mud that had edged there way into her nails. Scarlett sighed happily, but then frowned. She had to leave and get to bed before dark. A she was strolling back home she was about her life and all the events that transpired throughout. Her life was hard, but surprisingly Scarlett enjoyed it. But not when she thought about her mother and father.....

Chapter 3:

"But mommy, I already told you, I don't want to go!"

But, Scarlett, it's going to be fun. Just me, you and your father. All three of us together in Australia! Think about all the exciting adventure we will have there!"

"Ugh- fine" Scarlett said crossly folding her arms and tapping her foot. But I'm warning you guys- I don't think that we should go, I have a bad feeling about this."

Scarlett boarded the plane hesitantly. She grabbed her suitcase and then took her seat on the left side of the plane with her parents at the right. The girl thought about Australia all throughout the ride until she felt like the plane was making thumping noises and it was getting hotter. Lookout out the window she screamed. Her parents were about to rush to her when she felt the impact of the plane hitting the ground with amazing force when she blacked out.

She nodded awake and smelled smoke, and the air was full of the tinge of blood. Inspecting her surroundings, Scarlett walked to wear her parents were sitting, rummaging through the rubble. Her parents- she swallowed back tears and the urge to retch a Ashe stared helplessly at the bodies of the only two people in the world she cared about- everyone else was dead and so was her heart. Scarlett screamed "Nooooooooooooo........."
