Emma's POV
"Guys, not cool!" I shout to my partners as I run up behind them. "You don't just abandon someone!" I complain. My identical twin, Maka, looked back at me. "You were being kind of slow.." I put my hand to my heart.
"Ouch." I tried to make it sound dramatic. "Anyways, Soul just got his 99th kishin soul." Maka stopped me before I could start ranting. My eyes widened. "So he needs a wi-" I rudely got cut off.
"A witch soul." Soul finished for me. Well, then. I see how it is. "Then I'll becone a Death Scythe. As if I wasn't cool enough already." I rolled my eyes.
"We should go report to Lord Death." Maka said, and walked to the nearest window. She fogged it and with her finger wrote '42-42-564' while saying, "42 42 564 Whenever you want knock on Death's door."
Just before the window glowed, I caught a glimpse of mys reflection. I looked exactly like Maka, but I currently had my hair down. I grinned.
"Lord Death, are you there? Meister Maka reporting." Suddenly Lord Death appeared in the window. "Yes, yes Meister Maka. How are you doing? How did it go?" He started babbling.
"Soul just got his 99th kishin soul. Now we just need a witch soul and we'll be done." I informed him, grinning.
"Great work! You're starting to become excellent meisters like your mother was!" Maka giggled and I smiled. Just then our father leaned into the window.
"Hey, Soul Eater! You wouldn't think of touching my daughters. As a Death Scythe- No - As their father, I will freaking kill you! Got it, you little octopus head?" He yelled. I rolled my eyes.
Soul sounded unaffected. "What are you smoking? See how cool I am? I wouldn't go for flat-chested girls like them." Maka looked mad. I felt a twitch of annoyance.
My father leaned so close it looked as if he was going to pop out of the window. "WHAT DID YOU SAY?!" My, gosh! I growled. Annoying, much?
"ARE YOU TRYING TO TELL YOU THEY AREN'T ATTRACTIVE!? WHY HAVEN'T YOU MADE A MOVE ON THEM?! YOU'RE A MAN AREN'T YOU?!" Maka and I exchanged a glance of annoyance.
"Maka, Emma.." Oh, no. "Your father loves you.." Maka glared. "Don't try it. There's no way I'll ever consider you our father." Maka spoke for both of us.
Then Lord Death continued. "As you know, when a meister and a weapon 99 kishin souls and additionally collect a witch soul, the weapon will have the qualifications to become a Death Scythe, one of my instruments. But it's the last one that's a little tricky."
"You've made it this far, but you've got to know that countless meisters have lost their lives when challenging a witch. You've got to be very careful, but if you suceed you'll become a very powerful Death Scythe as the one your mom created before you."
I grinned. "Right." Maka and I said at the same time. "In the collection, the witch's soul is very important. If you fail you must start over again." "We unserstand, Sir." Maka said. "Yeah, we'll make a clean job of it." Soul added. We said goodbye and left.
On the way I wondered what this witch would look like. I started imagening stupid things and giggled to myself. Woah, I don't giggle! Maka looked at me confused. I acted as if nothing had happened to avoid awkwardness.
Soon enough we arrived to a house. ".... Okay..." The house was made of pumpkins. "This must be the house where the Witch Blair lives." Maka stated the obvious. Then Soul said, "Yeah... A house of pumpkins."
"Looks tasty. It would be much cooler if we just barged in instead of sneaking in." "Yeah!" I sided with Soul. "We can't. She's different from all the others we faced." Ignoring her, Soul said. "Let's go.". He ran to the pumpkins and jumped up to a window. "Soul wait!" Maka called, but Soul ignored her. He jumped and seconds later there was a crash.
