Where do I start?

If you have ever known what it was like to want a love you can't have, you probably know it sucks. To see them everyday in school hallways, band practices, public cafés, etc. and not have the guts to go talk to them because you're afraid that your friend would totally flip out, well that's my case. Sofia has been my best friend since the 1st grade. I can remember going to her house for sleep overs in the 4th grade and talk about the cute boys in our class, but we would be interrupted by her annoying but cute older brother Luke. The hemmings household had always welcomed me with open arms, even Luke. Luke and I have talked on occasions while I waited for Sofia when we would go shopping, but other than that I think he thinks of me as one Sofia's best friends, but in reality I was in love with him! Luke is 2 years older than me and Sofia, but we share the same birth date. I can't believe after almost 12 years I haven't ever told him how I feel. I'm stupid right? "Elena! Are we going shopping or not?" Yelled Sofia. "Yeah, just give me a minute!" I yelled back. I slipped on some black leggings with a band t-shirt with my black vans and headed down stairs. My house was a 2 story house which held my mom, her boyfriend, and my brother and sister. Sofia was waiting at the end of the stairs. "Do you ever wear anything besides black? She laughed. "Of course I do." I laughed nervously. Let's just be honest black goes with everything and it is comfy!! "I hope you don't mind, but Luke has to drive us. My car is acting up again." She sighed. I froze, Luke was taking us? What if I said something stupid? What am I think I am stupid. We walked to the car and got in. "Hey Elena" Luke said fumbling with his radio. "Hi." I said awkwardly. "I hope you don't mind, but we are going to listen to my band." He said. "Aww" Sofia whined. "I want to listen to something that's actually worth listening to." She pouted. "My car, my rules." He said shrugging while smiling at me. His eyes were so beautiful! I smiled back shyly. The way he smiled at me was priceless. Gosh he was so beautiful. The car ride was silent with Sofia occasionally tossing and turning, I guess she was sleeping because I heard her snore. "How do you put up with her?" Luke asked looking into the rearview mirror meeting my eyes. "She is actually unique in ways." I said playing with the hem of my shirt. "Sure." He chuckled. When we arrived at the mall I woke Sofia off of my lap. "I will be back around 5pm, so that gives you 3 hours to shop till you drop." Luke said pulling beside the curb. "Okay, whatever." Sofia said. "Bye Elena." Luke said winking. Did he just wink at me???!!!? I waved and walked into the mall with Sofia. "When did you and my brother get so close?" She asked nudging me. "We not." I said way too quickly. "Sure, you know he likes you right?" She said. I stopped where I was. "No he doesn't. He has Bree." So I probably should have mentioned Luke was dating Bree my older sister. Yeah trust me I know. "So, boys like who they like." She said winking. Luke came to pick us up at 5pm just like he said. "Hey girls." Luke said. "Hey!" Sofia said back. Sofia took a nap the whole car ride. "How's Bree?" Luke asked focusing on the road. "At college." I replied bluntly. I still couldn't help but think back to what Sofia said. Luke couldn't like me, could he?
