Once we arrive in the hall, Tameka and sit in the chairs at the front. Once everyone is seated the teacher who lead us there leaves so naturally the noise rises as everyone begins to talk to each other. Five minutes pass and a man enters the room with a dark grey duffle bag, he looks smart and well put together wearing fitted black jeans with a plain white t-shirt. On his wrist lies a diamond encrusted golden watch which he fiddles around with before placing his duffle bag behind the computer stand.

"Silence!" he shouts.

His voice seems to echo, and the chatter quickly dies down.

"Good morning everyone, my name is Mr. Hurret and I'm your Chemistry teacher" he announces.

 I lean into Tameka.

"I thought he was a student!" I whisper to her.

Tameka's mouth had dropped since he entered the room and it's still open now. My vision is always blurry which I why suggested that we should sit at the front,I can't quite make out what he looks like facially but for Tameka to be this smitten, there must be something attractive about him. He takes of his burgundy and white striped scarf then places it on the floor next to the duffle bag, then he starts laughing to himself.

"SIKE!!" he screams, before jogging towards the front where Tameka and I are.

I hear hooting and cheers from a group of boys from the back which is when I register what's really going on. I've just been introduced to our resident class clown. Tameka is cackling next to me, but for some reason I don't find it funny at all. As he gets close to us I can finally figure out what he looks like. His medium brown skin has a slight golden undertone, which matches the highlights he has on the top of his mohican. His shape up looks recently shaved and I see a glint of his left earring which somehow shines brighter with the smug smile that's on his face. I can't tell if his eyes are really that small or if he's just squinting, but the colour of them remind of the chocolate brownies Tameka and I make when we have sleepovers.

"Can I sit here?" he says while looking at the empty chair next to me. I nod then look away to ensure that I don't give him too much attention.

Tameka is nudging the left side of my body, so I know she wants me to start a conversation with him. I try to ignore her for a further five minutes but as she pokes my rib I feel the pain vibrate my bones.

"Aaah!" I whisper.

"You alright?" he asks giving me a weird look.

"Yeah I'm fine?" I bluntly reply while looking at Tameka who's giving me puppy dog eyes.

I sigh before saying "So what's your name?"

"Jeremiah, and you?" he replies smoothly.

"Cherity" I answer.
