Muggles vs wizards

Hello fellow Harry Potter nerds. This theory is really different. All of the previous theories have focused on one character. This one involves all of the wizarding world. When you were reading or watching Harry Potter did you ever wonder why wizards were so secretive about their powers? I mean, if I was a wizard I would be like "Yo! Come watch me make this tree float!" But no, it's like they're all in some secret cult. (No, that's not the theory.) The theory is that the wizards were once open about their powers, but the muggles and wizards went to war. And the muggles kicked ass. Let's look at some facts.
Abra Kadabra. Sounds a lot like Avada Kedavera doesn't it? Well, what if the muggles heard the killing curse so much they made up a cheesy magic spell to remind them of their victory over the magical beings.
The Wizards are tight asses. A magical felony is using magic outside of school! Take Ron for example. He has five older brothers! The poor kid had to grow up watching his brothers tell their friends, "yo, come watch me make this tree float!" Why would you want to deprive your child of fame, popularly and well MAGIC? Because you're afraid of getting shot with a machine gun when you have a stick.
