Ty boldly strolled through the hallways to his English class with a confident grin on his face. Ty was like the perfect student. He was funny, nice, smart, and attractive. He always spoke his mind whether it came to compliments to shy students or his opinions in debates. He wanted everyone to see the beautiful, passionate side of life and I guess that's what made him perfect.
Before the last bell rang, Ty had crossed the doorway into the classroom right on time. He greeted his teacher, grabbed his binder off the shelf, then took a seat in his desk, talking to a friend who sat in front of him.
" Alright everyone, today I thought we could do something fun yet educational, so we'll be writing stories of whatever you want. Your plot choice!", their teacher, Ms. Castillo, had announced to huge group of students.
" As long as it's appropriate! And make sure it's grammatically correct. We're only doing this to check your writing skills~", their other teacher, Ms. Verna, chirped in.
" Yeah~ Dude I got this cool story idea I'm dying to write down", Ty practically shouted in class in a upbeat tone. Some of the students just laughed at his excitement, some rolled their eyes, and one did enthusiastically.
" Oh my god, shut up Ty..", the student said under their breath in an annoyed tone.
Ty looked forward, two seats ahead of him was the girl who told him to shut up. He had a look of disgust having to deal with her remarks... again. Sonya and Ty were two people that weren't best to be alone together. More like every time Ty was happy, Sonya just wanted him to stop. No one knows how someone could hate Ty's bright atmosphere, but there Sonya was. Always snarling at him to stop.
Ty just glared at the back of her head, and focused on his work. In a matter of minutes, Ty had silly grin back on his face. He was too into his work, ' maybe if I write this story good, Sonya will finally stop looking down at him' he thought. All he wanted was for her to be somewhat of a friend, like every other person he was able to achieve that goal with.
The bell has rang and school was over. All the students packed up their paper and pencils as the teacher explained to the class to finish their story as homework. Ty was determined to complete his story to impress everyone in class, especially Sonya.

Ty walked into the class room with his confident smile again, always ready to take on any wall in his way. At that moment it was to make Sonya to at least stop hating his guts. He spotted her smiling and talking to her friends, but as soon as she made eye contact, she slowly looked away as her smile dragged down just by looking at him. He narrowed his eyes. 'Alright, game on' he thought to himself.
Ms. Castillo began the class by asking if any students wanted to share their stories. Sky rocketing into the air, Ty's arm flung up almost demanding to read out his story. " Yes I'd like to share my story!" Ty, again, practically shouted. Sonya quietly grunted in annoyance and rolled her eyes, being so easily ticked off by anything the excited boy ever did.
" Yes, Ty, please share your story", Ms. Castillo beamed towards the boy. Ty cleared his voice, and spoke in a clear, loud voice.
" My story is titled 'The secret beauty'", Ty started off.
" There once lived a quiet girl in a small village of bright smiles. The village was known to smile as bright as the sun, for they had only known as their god and to follow his lead. To shine brightly. But the girl had never even showed her teeth! Everyone in the village thought she was a devil, going against their god. Although there was one person who was there who never thought of her any less. He was intrigued by her difference to the others. He payed close attention to her and later on got close to her. On a full moon one night, the boy and girl sat on the huge mossy rock that their lake was right in front of. The moonlight had shined off the clear, sapphire water. The ivory moon reflected in her eyes and the boy noticed. He let his thoughts become spoken and said ' Maybe you shine better in the moon' yet she smiled brighter than the sun"
After Ty had finished his story, everyone had a moment of silence. Some were touched, some were shocked. Just know everyone was silent until the teacher had clapped.
" Oh my goodness, Tyler, that was beautiful. I had never heard anything so beautiful in my life, thank you", Ms. Castillo had praised her student. Ty blushed and scratched the back of his head. He looked at his classmates and made eye contact with Sonya who's eyes were widen. She was more shocked if anything.
As class has ended from the dismissal of the bell, Ty walked towards Sonya's desk as she was packing up.
" I liked your story Sonya", Ty spoke. Sonya looked up remembering that she read her story out loud too. She avoided eye contact and continued packing.
" Thanks, yours was good too", she murmured grumpily. Ty's smile widen as if he had won the lottery.
" You mean it!? Oh my god, yes!! I knew it you'd like me-"
" Who said I liked you?! Just because I admitted that your story was good doesn't mean I think you're any less annoying!", Sonya yelled, stomping out of the classroom. Ty stood there in confusion, a bit of rage growing inside of him. " Oooo looks like some issues are going on right Ms. Castillo?" Ms. Verna spoke, breaking Ty's train of thought.
" Mmhmm, you better go straighten things out buddy, I know you got it in you", Ms. Castillo gestured and Ty quickly ran into the hallway as the two teachers nonchalantly took sips of their tea.
Ty ran, searching through the crowd of students after school. He had luckily found her, spotting her backpack and grabbed onto her. Sonya turned around in surprise, but soon as she got a clear picture of who had stopped her, her eyebrows furrowed and scoffed.
" Why do you hate me?!", Ty shouted in frustration. Sonya was taken back for she had never seen him so upset.
" What the f*ck did I do?! All I try to do is make people happy and lighten up their moods, but to you, you just hate it when I'm happy- You hate everything I do- Do you hate me that much?!?! Why don't you like me?!?!"
" I do like you!!", Sonya shouted back, tears dwelling in her eyes. Ty was perplexed, like, she literally makes sure that everyone knows she thinks he's annoying, heck, she just said she didn't like him ten minutes ago and know she's telling him she likes him? That bull, he thought.
" What?? What do you mean? I'm pretty sure you remind me daily how much you despise me!", Ty replied in an angry, yet confused tone. Sonya avoided eye contact with him, not saying a word. Ty felt sincere as he watched a tear stroll down Sonya's cheek. She felt lost, speechless. He lightly nudged in a playful manner.
" Hey, please, explain to me? I just want to know", Ty whispered, but loud enough for Sonya to only hear.
"....You're.. so perfect..", she croaked out of her throat, it being dry from holding in her sorrows. Ty tilted his head, thoughts spinning, but waited for her to explain.
" You literally are the most perfect guy I've ever met... the only thing that wasn't perfect about you is that you can't... be mine.." Ty stopped thinking for a second and figured out what the problem was.
" It's because of Michelle, huh?", Ty murmured in such a dark tone. His girlfriend of almost a year was the problem Sonya was having.
" That's why I hate you.. You're so perfect, except for the fact... that I can't have you... So don't worry, I like you.. I just hate you because it was the only way I can cope with getting over you.." Ty watched as Sonya painfully let her true emotions show. Her tear dripping down her chin, red puffy eyes staring at him, and her voice broken from the words she forced herself to say. She'd be an idiot if she still loved when he loved someone else. That's when hatred took over.
Ty had no idea how much he hurt her. The amount of times he kissed Michelle in front of her, to the times he wouldn't shut up about her in class, where Sonya had no choice but to listen. No wonder she hated him.
