A/N: This is a Sci-Fi competition challenge about the end of the world.
How does it happen? What's the cause?
If someone lives to tell the tale, how do they survive?
Does the world really end or is it the start of another?
If your world no longer exists, where did you go?
Convey it in no more than 150 words.
The sky was black with absolutely no stars. The ground was coated with blood and ashes. The familiar smell of burning was in the air. There were no bodies, no corpses, left. The wind blew away the ashes, letting them mix along with the air, leaving only thick, red blood everywhere. The vast ocean of silence stretched in every direction as opposed to the blood curling screams that could've been heard just seconds earlier.
There were a countless number of deep trenches dug into the ground which were filled almost to the top with blood. There was a slight movement in one such trench. The blood flowed out of the trench, seeping into the cracks on the ground, to reveal a flesh of metal steel. It smoothly glided out of the trench, its robotic voice echoing throughout the place and blood dripping down its artificial body.
"Mission accomplished: Planet Earth-Destroyed."
